Mirwaiz placed under house detention, Waza arrested

Srinagar, June 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred one Kashmiri youth in Uri area of Baramulla district, today.

The troops martyred the youth during a cordon and search operation at Bujtalan in Boniyar area of Uri. The troops also launched a similar operation in Drabgam and Monghar villages of Pulwama district and continued searches in Kishtwar area of Jammu region on the second consecutive day, today. A driver was injured after Indian troops fired at him near Romeshi rivulet in Pulwama district, last night.

Meanwhile, the occupation authorities placed the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, under house arrest in Srinagar, today. Indian police arrested Hurriyat leader, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, in Islamabad town and lodged him at Sherbagh Police Station in the town. »

Srinagar, June 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, has said that the Muslim countries should play their active role to bring an end to the human rights violations being perpetrated by Indian troops in the territory.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar hailed the Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organization (MCCIO) for supporting Kashmiris and setting up a Parliamentary Kashmir Group. He appreciated the efforts of MCCIO chief, Muhammad Azmi Abdul Hamid, to highlight the Kashmiris’ sufferings. »

Srinagar, June 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities placed the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, under house arrest in Srinagar, today.

A spokesman of the forum in a statement in Srinagar said that a police party arrived at the Nigeen residence of the Mirwaiz and placed him under house detention.

He said that the police didn’t give any reason for the detention of the Mirwaiz.

Srinagar, June 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, senior APHC leader and the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, has condemned the illegal detention of 75-year-old party leader, Abdul Subhan Wani, saying that the authorities are not even bothered about his age.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar said Abdul Subhan Wani is suffering from various ailments and despite that police arrested him and lodged him in police station without any reason. »

Srinagar, June 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police arrested Hurriyat leader and Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL), Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, in Islamabad town, today.

A JKPL spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that a police party arrived at the residence of Mukhtar Ahmed Waza in Kadipora area of Islamabad and took him into custody. He said that the JKPL Chairman was lodged at Sherbagh Police Station in the town. »

Srinagar, June 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a mosque (Masjid-e-Noor) in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district was damaged in a devastating fire incident on Saturday morning.

An eyewitness told media that fire engulfed the third and second storey of the building. “The third storey of the mosque is completely damaged and the second one has suffered partial damage,” he said. »

Jammu, June 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, several persons including children were injured in an accident in Kishtwar district of Jammu region, today.

The accident occurred when a vehicle on way from Kandni to Kishtwar turned turtle in Fogmorh area of the district.

At least 18 persons including few children sustained injuries in the mishap. The injured were shifted to District Hospital Kishtwar for treatment.

Srinagar, June 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a driver was injured after Indian troops fired at him during an ambush when he was returning home in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, last night.

Reports said that Muhammad Shafi Ganai, a resident of Wahibugh village of Pulwama, was returning home in his car from Gulzarpora village along with three other villagers at midnight on Friday. As the car reached Romeshi rivulet, it was fired upon by Indian troops, who had laid an ambush there. He sustained injury in his hand. »

Srinagar, June 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Working Journalist Association of Islamabad district has strongly condemned thrashing of video-journalists by some goons inside the premises of District Hospital while they were performing their professional duties.

Senior member of the Association, Fayaz Ahmad Lolu and video journalist, Ruheel Ahanger said that they were inside the premises of the hospital to cover an event. “Few goons not only stopped us for performing duties but also thrashed us and broke our cell phones,” they said. »

Srinagar, June 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has denounced the authorities for not allowing its chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, to visit Urdu Book Fair at the Kashmir University in Srinagar.

The APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, was invited by the students of Kashmir University to attend the book fair and deliver a lecture on Urdu language on Friday. However, the occupation authorities disallowed him to venture out of his residence and kept him under continued house arrest. »
