India urged to settle Kashmir dispute peacefully

Srinagar, June 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred four Kashmiri youth in Shopian district, today.

The troops martyred the youth during a violent cordon and search operation at Daramdora in Keegam area of the district. The martyred youth were identified as Showkat Ahmed, Azad Ahmed Khandey, Suhail Yousuf and Rafi Hassan Mir. The occupation authorities suspended internet service in the district. The troops had martyred one youth during a similar operation in Uri area of Baramulla district, yesterday. The Indian forces’ personnel launched a cordon and search operation in Charwan village of Kangan area of Ganderbal district, today. »

Srinagar, June 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, senior APHC leader and the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai has said that India does not believe in consensus, democracy and humanity.

Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar said India believes that it can resolve the Kashmir dispute by the use of force rather than by peaceful political means and blocking all the avenues for diplomacy and dialogue. He said this is an illusion because India’s policy of brutalizing the people of Kashmir for the past seven decades has not succeeded and will never succeed in the future. He said New Delhi only believes in the use of brute force and intimidation. »

Srinagar, June 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a government school teacher was found hanging from a tree in Mahore area of Reasi district of Jammu region, today.

The deceased, identified as Farooq Ahmed Dar, was found hanging from a tree in his native Hariwala village of Mahore.

A police official said that the teacher was found hanging from a tree today morning after which a team of police from Mahore police station rushed to the spot and removed body from the spot and later medico-legal formalities were conducted.

Srinagar, June 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has said that India’s stubborn approach towards the Kashmir dispute is the sole reason behind the ongoing bloodbath in the territory.

A DFP spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said it is due to the unresolved Kashmir dispute that people of Kashmir face hardships on every step and their overall development is at a halt. »

Srinagar, June 23 (KMS): As Government of India has suspended the trade across the Line of Control (LoC), traders of both parts of Kashmir are holding a three-day conference from today at Tashkent in Uzbekistan to chalk out a strategy to push for its resumption.

The two business delegations from occupied Kashmir would be led by President of Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Sheikh Ashiq, and President of Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), Rakesh Gupta. The President of Poonch cross-LoC Traders Association, Pawan Anand, will also be part of the delegation. »

Washington, June 23 (KMS): An official US report has said that the mob attacks by violent extremist Hindu groups against the minority communities, particularly Muslims, continued in India in 2018.

The US State Department in its annual 2018 International Religious Freedom Report said, “Mob attacks by violent extremist Hindu groups against minority communities, especially Muslims, continued throughout the year amid rumours that victims had traded or killed cows for beef.”

The report said that some senior officials of the ruling BJP made inflammatory speeches against the minority communities. According to some NGOs, the authorities often protected perpetrators from prosecution, it said. »

Srinagar, June 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, seven persons were injured, today, in a road mishap on Srinagar-Leh highway in Sonamarg area of Ganderbal district.

An official said that a truck moving from Kargil to Sonamarg collided with a passenger vehicle coming from the opposite direction near Nilgrar in Sonamarg, resulting in injuries to seven passengers travelling in the vehicle. »

Srinagar, June 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a 21-year-old youth died after a boat capsized in Jhelum River in Banyari village in Hajin area of Bandipora district, today.

Reports said that a youth identified as Lateef Ahmad Dar, son of Reyaz Ahmad Dar of Banyari Hajin, drowned after a boat capsized in the Jhelum River. »

A senior police officer talking to media men claimed that the youth were militants and were killed in an encounter with the troops. »
