Hurriyat always favoured talks for Kashmir settlement

Srinagar, June 24 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, several people were injured when Indian troops used brute force against peaceful protesters in Pulwama town, today.

People took to the streets in different areas of Pulwama town, today, and staged forceful demonstrations against the killing of four youth by Indian troops. Indian troops fired pellets and teargas shells to disperse the protesters in Pulwama town, today. Several youth sustained injuries in the brutal actions of the troops. The youth, Showkat Ahmed, Azad Ahmed, Rafi Hassan Mir and Suhail Yousuf Butt, were martyred by the troops during a cordon and search operation in Daramdora area of Shopian district, yesterday. »

Srinagar, June 24 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops launched cordon and search operations in Baramulla and Pulwama districts, today.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the troops cordoned off Dooru village in Sopore area of Baramulla district. The troops sealed all the entry and exit points of Dooru and started a door-to-door search operation.

The Indian forces also launched a similar operation in Tumluhal area of Pulwama district. The forces’ personnel started house-to-house searches after blocking all entry and exit points of the area. »

Islamabad, June 24 (KMS): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter has expressed concern over the prevailing situation in occupied Kashmir.

The APHC-AJK in a statement issued in Islamabad strongly condemned the authorities for not allowing its chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, to visit Urdu Book Fair at the Kashmir University in Srinagar and keeping him under house detention from last several years. »

Srinagar, June 24 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that the Hurriyat leadership has always been in favour of talks to settle the Kashmir dispute.

The Hurriyat forum said this in response to a statement of the Governor of occupied Kashmir, Satya Pal Malik, wherein he stated that it was encouraging to see Hurriyat’s readiness for talks. »

Srinagar, June 24 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Private Schools’ Association Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK), has expressed concern on the New Education Policy (NEP) released by the Indian Ministry of Human Resources and Development (MHRD) recently in the public domain.

The PSAJK President, G N Var, in a statement issued in Srinagar said that attempts to politicise and saffronise the education would be protested. He said new policy is bereft of logic at various places and its implementation will damage decades of progress achieved in education sector. He said voluminous document needs extensive discussions as number of points in it are detrimental for students, teachers and society as a whole. »

Srinagar, June 24 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a constable of Indian police’s intelligence wing committed suicide in Jammu, today.

The constable identified as Arjun Dev, who was undergoing lower class course at the training center Sujwan, ended his life by shooting himself with his service rifle. »

Srinagar, June 24 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, an extraordinary meeting of the Jammu and Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi was held in Srinagar with its President, Muhammad Iqbal Mir in chair, today.

Muhammad Iqbal Mir addressing the meeting said that Kashmir was a political dispute and should be resolved politically and democratically in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiri people. He said military might is no solution to any issue rather in further complicates the disputes. »
