Islamabad, June 28 (KMS): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter has said that India is using different tactics to harass the Kashmiri people.

The APHC-AJK leaders on the call of APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, gathered in Islamabad and held a meeting, today, with its Convener, Syed Abdullah Gilani, in chair.

The meeting denounced the illegal detention of Hurriyat leaders and activists including Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Masarrat Aalam Butt, Aasiya Andrabi, Fehmeeda Sofi, Dr Abdul Hameed Fayaz, Altaf Ahmed Shah, Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saifullah, Merajuddin Kalwal, Maulana Mushtaq Veeri, Sarjan Barkati and Syed Shahid Yousuf. It also condemned the harassment of the Kashmiri resistance leaders by various probe agencies of India including the infamous National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

The meeting urged the world bodies particularly those working for prisoners’ rights to take notice of the plight of the Kashmiri political prisoners languishing in different jails of India and the occupied territory.

It also expressed grief and sorrow over the tragic killing of 11 students including nine girl students in a road accident on Mughal Road in Shopian and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families.

The meeting was attended by Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Mehmood Ahmad Saghar, Abdul Majeed Mir, Sheikh Muhammad Yaqoob, Abdul Majeed Malik, Muhammad Husain Khateeb, Nisar Mirza, Javed Iqbal Butt, Syed Kifayat Hussain Rizvi, Imtiaz Ahmad Wani and Sheikh Abdul Mateen.
