APHC-AJK pays glowing tributes to Burhan Wani » Kashmir Media Service

Islamabad, July 08 (KMS): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter held a seminar in Islamabad, today, to pay glowing tributes to popular youth leader, Burhan Wani, on his third martyrdom anniversary.

The speakers addressing on the occasion said that the unprecedented sacrifices given by the people of Kashmir for the Kashmir cause would not be allowed to go waste.

They said that the Indian forces were committing state terrorism in occupied Kashmir and demanded of the world community and international human rights organizations to take strict notice of the Indian brutalities.

The speakers included Prime Minster of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan, Kashmir Committee Chairman, Syed Fakhar Imam, Abdul Basit, Syed Abdullah Gilani, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Mehmood Ahmad Saghar, Muhammad Rafique Dar, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Brig Mohammad Khan and Ishtiyaq Hameed.

A resolution was also passed in the seminar, condemning the Indian atrocities in the occupied territory.

The resolution strongly denounced the massive human rights violations of Kashmiris by Indian forces and appealed to the United Nations, European Union, Organisations of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and other influential international organizations to play their role in peaceful settlement of the lingering Kashmir dispute.

It condemned the continued illegal detention and house detention of Hurriyat leaders and activists and shifting them to the jails of India and Jammu. It also denounced the inhuman treatment being meted out to the Kashmiri political leaders in jails and demanded their immediate and unconditional release.

The resolution also condemned the continued illegal house arrest of APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani and demanded his immediate release.

It also expressed concern that no action has been taken on the UN Human Rights Council report about Kashmir published in 2018. It said people of Kashmir are main party to the dispute and Kashmir dispute could not be resolved without their participation in the dialogue process.

The resolution demanded of the UN to give Kashmiris their birthright to self-determination.
