Srinagar, July 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has thanked people for complete shutdown, today, on the third martyrdom anniversary of the great martyr, Burhan Muzaffar Wani and said that the silent protest should serve as an eye opener for every conscious and sane person, particularly those who are persistently in a denial mode of the ground realities.

The APHC in a statement issued in Srinagar said despite living in a fearful and suffocating environment with nonstop bloodshed, death and destruction and psychological and physical torture, the people of Kashmir can never afford to forget their martyrs and can never be cowed down by military might and iron fist measures.

The statement said unrealistic and undemocratic restrictions particularly in Tral preventing people to pay homage to their brave hearts, is the new meaning of “democracy” invented by the arrogant rulers euphoric with the majority mandate intoxication, but those, who sacrifices their precious lives for a noble mission, live in the hearts of their people and don’t need communications tools or physical gatherings to express their emotions.

Commenting on the reports of vandalism and highhandedness of the armed forces in south Kashmir, it said instead of fighting the freedom-loving people, forces cowardly target defenceless innocents to quench their thirst of hatred, and arrest people randomly to create a graveyard like peace to hoodwink global powers.

It said arresting Hurriyat leaders, Ghulam Mohammad Khan Sopori, Bilal Ahmad Sidiqui and Mohammad Yaseen Aataie is indicative of such mindset and this lawless land has a new norms of “democratic” values, which are so dreadful and inhuman, that its ramifications are seen and felt in whole world particularly Muslim Ummah, for the last so many decades.
