UN report on Kashmir testifies Hurriyat stand

Srinagar, July 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, India’s infamous National Investigation Agency has attached the residence of illegally detained Dukhtaran-e-Millat Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi, in Srinagar.

In the attachment order, pasted at the entrance of Aasiya Andrabi’s residence located in Soura area of Srinagar, the NIA directed all the concerned quarters not to transfer, sale or otherwise deal with the said property in any manner. »

Srinagar, July 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons held a sit-in protest at Pratap Park in Srinagar against the enforced disappearances by Indian forces.

Scores of men and women associated with APDP were holding posters with photos of their near and dear ones, seeking the whereabouts of the disappeared persons. The association registers its protests on 10th of every month. »

Islamabad, July 10 (KMS): APHC-AJK chapter held a meeting in Islamabad, today, with its Convener, Syed Abdullah Gilani in chair.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the meeting condemned the atrocities being committed by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir and said that India was hell-bent upon committing genocide of the Kashmiri people in the occupied territory. A statement issued at the end of the meeting said that Kashmiri youth were killed with each passing day. The participants of the meeting expressed the resolve to continue their struggle for right to self-determination at all levels. »

Srinagar, July 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the High Court Bar Association (HCBA) on Wednesday released book on Article 35-A.

The book was written to spread the awareness about 35-A among general public.

It is worth mentioning here that Article 35A allows the Jammu and Kashmir legislature to define permanent residents of the territory.

Srinagar, July 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, family members and relatives of illegally detained Hurriyat leader, Sarjan Barkati, on Wednesday staged a protest demonstration at Press Enclave in Srinagar, demanding his release at the earliest.

The protesters said they are suffering badly since he was arrested by police. Sughra, Barkati’s daughter, said her father was arrested in 2016 and was still languishing in jail. »

Srinagar, July 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Human Rights Commission has issued an arrest warrant against Deputy Secretary Home Department for failing to appear in the case of continued illegal detention of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik.

The Commission member, Dishad Shaheen, issued the warrant on a petition moved by Srinagar-based rights activist, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo. The petitioner pleaded that despite notice, the Deputy Secretary has failed to respond. »

Srinagar, July 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that the second report released by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) on rights violations in Kashmir testified Hurriyat stand.

In the second report on Kashmir in 13 months, the OHCHR has reiterated its observations about the rising graph of human rights violations and the killing of civilians by the state machinery. »
