JKLF to launch ‘Free Yasin Malik’ drive

Srinagar, July 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership has called for complete shutdown on the Kashmir Martyrs’ Day on Saturday to reiterate the urgent need for a peaceful and just settlement of the Kashmir dispute as per Kashmiris’ aspirations.

The JRL in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, also called for a march towards the Martyrs’ Graveyard at Naqashband Sahib in Srinagar to pay homage to the martyrs of 13th of July 1931. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq will lead the march after Zuhr prayers from Jamia Masjid Srinagar to the Martyrs’ Graveyard. The shutdown is also aimed to put an end to the Indian repression against the Kashmiri people and Hurriyat leaders. »

Srinagar, July 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, senior APHC leader and the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, has paid tributes to the martyrs of July 13, 1931.

On 13th July in 1931, the troops of Dogra Maharaja had killed 22 Kashmiris, one after the other, outside Central Jail in Srinagar during the court proceedings against one Abdul Qadeer who had asked Kashmiri people to defy the Dogra rule. »

New Delhi, July11 (KMS): The New York-based Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) has urged the Indian authorities to stop harassing journalists and employees of the Srinagar-based English daily, Greater Kashmir.

The CPJ in a statement issued in New Delhi said India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) questioned Fayaz Kaloo, the Chief Editor of the one of the leading newspapers in Jammu and Kashmir, for nearly one week. »

Srinagar, July 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders have condemned the attachment of residence of illegally detained Dukhtaraan-e-Millat Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi saying the move is the latest example of India’s Kashmir policy, which is in force since 1947 to continue its illegal control over Kashmir. »

New Delhi, July 11 (KMS): Indian Army has placed an order for procuring Israeli anti-tank Spike missiles, known for their precision targeting with an ability to pierce even bunkers.

Reports said the missiles can hits targets at a range of four kilometers and can be deployed in both mountains and plains. They can be fired from different platforms — vehicles, helicopters, ships and ground launchers — and can be deployed even along the Line of Control (LoC), they added. »

Srinagar, July 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops launched a cordon and search operation in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, today.

The troops cordoned off Kanispora area of the district and launched searches. The operation continued till last reports came in.

Srinagar, July 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Acting Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Abdul Hameed Butt has said that party will launch ‘Free Yasin Malik’ and ‘Lift ban on JKLF’ campaigns throughout the world.

Abdul Hameed Butt addressing party’s Supreme Council meeting in Srinagar said the detention of JKLF Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, and ban on party are illegal and the international community should immediately intervene and impress upon India to release Yasin Malik and lift ban on the political organization. »
