Srinagar, July 19 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Tehreek-e-Wahdat-e-Islami (TWI) has said that the final destination of the Kashmiris’ ongoing freedom movement is the merger of the territory with Pakistan.

The TWI had held an extraordinary meeting of its General Council in Srinagar in connection with the Accession to Pakistan Day, today.

The TWI in a statement issued in Srinagar said 19th July is a day of renewal of pledge to continue struggle till Jammu and Kashmir becomes part of Pakistan. It said that the historical resolution adopted on 19th July in 1947 at the platform of All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference in Srinagar determined that Jammu and Kashmir is, ideologically, culturally and geographically, part and parcel of Pakistan. The statement added the Kashmiri people have been offering matchless sacrifices for the past more than seven decades to achieve the goal that was set on this day in 1947.

The TWI underscored that it must remain clear that the only aim of the ongoing freedom movement is to free the territory from the illegal Indian occupation and make it part of Pakistan. It maintained that the Kashmiri people’s love and commitment to Pakistan is being expressed on various occasions in the territory, whether be it shouting slogans in favour of Pakistan in mammoth gatherings and meetings or celebrating with fervour and zest the important days related to Pakistan despite facing Indian bullets and bayonets.

As per the statement, the participants of the meeting reiterated the resolve to continue the struggle till occupied Kashmir also becomes part of Pakistan just like the other part of the territory, namely Azad Jammu and Kashmir. It should be noted, the statement said, that the ardent desire to accede to Pakistan is the real spirit behind the Kashmiris’ freedom movement and if this desire is taken out, the movement will cease to exist.

The meeting paid glowing tributes to prominent Mujahid commander, Gulzar Ahmed Butt alias Abid Kashmiri, who achieved martyrdom while bravely fighting the Indian troops in Soipora area of Magam in north Kashmir on 20th July 1994. The meeting also paid homage to other Kashmiri martyrs and reiterated the Kashmiris’ pledge to accomplish their mission, comes what may.

The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, Shabbir Ahmed Dar, in a statement in Srinagar said 19th July is a historic and an eventful day in the resistance history of Jammu and Kashmir as on this day in 1947 the genuine and true representatives of Kashmir met in Abiguzar, Srinager, and passed a resolution which supported the accession of Jammu and Kashmir with Pakistan.
