Islamabad, July 19 (KMS): A roundtable conference in connection with Accession to Pakistan Day was held at the office of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter in Islamabad, today.

The speakers of the conference termed July 19 as an important day in the history of Kashmir when on this day in 1947 the Kashmiri people had associated their future with Pakistan.

The speakers said the people of Kashmir have been sacrificing their precious lives for last seventy-two years not only for liberation of Kashmir from Indian occupation but also for protection and safety of Pakistan. They said that India had illegally occupied the territory of Jammu and Kashmir against the will of Kashmiri people but it could not suppress the freedom sentiment of the Kashmiris.

The speakers said India cannot end Kashmiris’ love and association with Pakistan. They termed the killing of innocent people and the use of brute force on peaceful demonstrators by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir as the worst kind of state terrorism. They also expressed serious concern over the continued massive human rights violations by the Indian forces’ personnel in the occupied territory.

The speakers paid glowing tributes to the Kashmiri martyrs as well as the Hurriyat leaders, activists and youth languishing in different jails. They reaffirmed the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue the liberation movement till it reached its logical conclusion for which lacs of Kashmiri people have rendered their lives.

Syed Abdullah Gilani, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Syed Yousuf Naseem, Muhammad Hussain Khateeb, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, Abdul Majeed Malik, Syed Ejaz Rehmani, Mir Tahir Masood, Shamim Shawl, Abdul Majeed Mir, Advocate Pervez Ahmed, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Khawaja Nazir Ahmed Karnai, Manzoor-ul-Haq Butt, Syed Manzoor Shah, Muhammad Shafee Dar, Nisar Mirza, Zahid Ashraf, Raja Khadim Hussain, Mushtaq Ahmed Butt and Imtiaz Wani participated in the conference. At the end of the conference, the participants offered special prayers for the Kashmiri martyrs and prosperity and integrity of Pakistan.

It was on this day in 1947 that the Kashmiris’ true representatives adopted a historic resolution from the platform of the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference in Srinagar, demanding accession of Jammu and Kashmir to Pakistan.
