Lawyer denies NIA allegations against Yasin Malik

Srinagar, July 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani has urged India to take concrete steps for permanent resolution of the long-pending Kashmir dispute to save the future of upcoming generations.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said the Kashmir dispute has consumed more than three generations of Kashmiris and still continues to threaten the existence of yet another generation. He strongly reacted to the threatening statement of Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and said that Kashmir was Himalaya-like reality and such utterances from Indian rulers were not only far from reality but also a sign of highhandedness and arrogance. Addressing the Hurriyat leaders, Rajnath Singh had said that if somebody did not want a solution through talks, then they would know very well how a solution could be found.

The Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, expressed concern over the arrest of party worker, Khalid Hussain in Kulgam and deteriorating health condition of Sajjad Ahmad Butt at Central Jail in Srinagar.

The family members and relatives of pro-freedom activist, Sarjan Barkati, today, staged a protest demonstration outside Jamia Masjid in Shopian to press for his immediate release. The protesters were carrying placards and posters inscribed with slogans against Barkati’s illegal detention.

The occupation authorities invoked black law, Public Safety Act, for the second time in a year, on Jamaat-e-Islami Spokesman, Advocate Zahid Ali. The first black law on Zahid Ali was quashed by a court in Srinagar on July 10. He has been shifted to Kot Bhalwal jail in Jammu.

Meanwhile, the lawyer of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik in a media interview in Srinagar denounced the allegations leveled by India’s National Investigation Agency against Yasin Malik. The lawyer, Raja Tufail, said the NIA has tried to dig up some evidence to stick various properties on JKLF chief as an exercise to malign him, but the agency has failed to provide any proof.

A five-member delegation of the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Movement led by Mir Shahid Saleem called on APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani at his Hyderpora residence in Srinagar and enquired about his health.

Hurriyat leader, Masroor Abbas, in a statement expressed concern over the plight of Kashmiri political detainees, languishing in different Indian jails. He said the detainees are subjected to the worst mental and physical torture.
