Srinagar, July 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, senior Hurriyat leader and the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai has expressed concern over the arrest of party worker, Khalid Hussain in Kulgam and deteriorating health condition of Sajjad Ahmad Butt at Central Jail in Srinagar.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, said that Khalid Hussain was a political activist and his activities in no way were criminal or illegal. He said the authorities have turned Kashmir into a military garrison and they allow no one to speak according to his conscious.

He said the Indian police arrested Khalid Hussain yesterday and have taken to an unknown destination. He said even the family of Khalid Hussain is not aware about his whereabouts.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai also expressed concern over the deteriorating health condition of Sajjad Ahmad Butt at Central Jail, Srinagar, saying that the authorities and the jail administration were using delaying tactics in provision of his medical treatment. He said Sajjad Ahmad Butt has been languishing in jail for last three years.

The Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Chairman said Sajjad Ahmad Butt felt pain in one of his ears and the doctors suggested him operation and even July 13 was fixed but the authorities did not take him to hospital, saying, there was a shutdown in the valley on the date.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai appealed to the jail administration that the life of Sajjad Ahmad Butt was in danger and he must be provided medical treatment which is his fundamental right.
