Javaid Mir concerned about detainees’ plight in jails

Srinagar, July 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leader, Javaid Ahmad Mir has expressed concern over the plight of political detainees languishing in different jails of India.

Javaid Ahmad Mir in a meeting with the relatives of the detainees in Srinagar said on one hand, the US President, Donald Trump, is offering his mediation on Kashmir to settle the lingering Kashmir dispute and, on the other, dangerous laws are implementing in Kashmir.

He said the possibility of peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute is enlightening after the US President’s Kashmir statement but in Indian parliament new laws are introduced to further suppress the illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists in jails.

Javaid Ahmad Mir praised the struggle of international community for peaceful settlement of the lingering Kashmir dispute and said that the Indian government should not waste the chance.
