Jammu, July 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Movement (JKFM), Muhammad Sharif Sartaj, has welcomed the US President, Donald Trump’s mediation offer on the Kashmir dispute.

Muhammad Sharif Sartaj in a statement issued in Jammu said it is a fact that Kashmir is a long pending dispute and needs political and peaceful resolution. He said Kashmir is a dispute between the two nuclear-armed neighbour countries which could any time take the situation towards the atomic war.

Muhammad Sharif Sartaj said that Kashmiris across the world have expressed their happiness over President Trump’s mediation offer. He added that peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute was also inevitable for social and economic development of South Asia because it had become a nuclear flashpoint in the region.

He also thanked the government of Pakistan for projecting the Kashmir cause at the international level effectively and said that the world community should play role in peaceful settlement of the lingering dispute.

Meanwhile, the President of Jammu and Kashmir Youth Forum for Justice, Irshad Ahmed Malik, in a statement in Jammu expressed satisfaction over the successful visit of Pakistan Prime Minister, Imran Khan, to the US. He said that the US President, Donald Trump’s mediation offer had proved that America was aware of the sensitivity of the Kashmir dispute.

He said that the Pakistan’s foreign policy was aimed at protecting the Kashmiris’ rights and added that the day was not far away when the sacrifices of Kashmiri people and the moral and political support of Pakistan would bring positive results. He also thanked Pakistan Prime Minister, Imran Khan, for highlighting the sufferings of the oppressed people of occupied Kashmir.
