Srinagar, July 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) leaders, Ameer Hamza Shah and Bashir Ahmed Qureshi, on directives of party Chairman, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, addressed public gatherings, today, and enlightened the people on the current political challenges and social evils in the territory.
Ameer Hamza addressing a Friday congregation at Jamia Masjid Aarigaam in Budgam, urged India to resolve the Kashmir dispute, adding even after the passage of more than seven decades, the Kashmir dispute continues to remain a reality.
Expressing serious concern over the deteriorating situation in Kashmir and rise in social evils in the society, he said, “We all have a responsibility to work towards making strong, vibrant and evil-free society, based on Islamic values and principles.” He urged various segments of society to come forward and play their role in shaping the society.
Bashir Qureshi addressing the Friday congregation at Samboora in Pulwama said the present political dispensation in India is launching crackdowns, making arrests, slapping PSA and sending political and religious leaders to jails to suppress the voice of the people of Kashmir instead of resolving the dispute. “These things are not new for us and we have been experiencing it for decades,” he said.
Bashir Qureshi urged the people of Kashmir to forge greater unity at this crucial hour and asked the youth to stand firm, stay calm and peaceful.
He suggested the Indian government to choose the path of engagement for peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute which is in the larger interest of the people of entire South Asia.
