Srinagar, July 27 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a 50-year-old man from Islamabad district was arrested by the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) in connection with the false case registered in connection with the attack on AkshardhamTemple in 2002.

The detained man has been identified as Muhammad Yaseen Butt, a resident of Batpora in Khannabal area of Islamabad district. He was arrested from his home where he runs a saw mill, media reports said, adding that the ATS team has taken away Muhammad Yaseen Butt for questioning.

On September 24, 2002, two armed men had barged into the complex of Akshardham Temple in Gandhinagar city of Indian state of Gujarat, killing at least 30 persons and injuring 80 others.

The Supreme Court of India had acquitted all six accused, including three awarded death sentence by a lower court.
