New Delhi, July 29 (KMS): A serving officer of Indian intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), V K Johri, has been appointed as the next Director General (DG) of India’s largest border guarding force, Border Security Force (BSF).

V K Johri, who is an IPS officer, is presently serving as the Special Secretary in RAW, under the Cabinet Secretariat.

An official order issued on Sunday said that V K Johri had been appointed as DG BSF. The order has been issued by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) that is headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and has Home Minister Amit Shah as its member.

Johri is a 1984-batch Indian Police Service officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre. He will take over the charge of the Border Security Force from incumbent RajniKanti Mishra, who retires on August 31.
