APHC concerned over increase in Indian atrocities in IOK

Srinagar, July 30 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has expressed grave concern over the increasing highhandedness of the Indian state by employing its agencies and armed forces personnel as an aggressive and repressive measure against unarmed civilians including pro-freedom leaders and activists.

The APHC in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, strongly condemned the arrest spree in Sopore, Baramulla, Pulwama, Budgam, Srinagar and Islamabad areas. It said more than 50 civilians including Rashid Nazeer, Waheed Khan, Aabid Khan and Nazeer Ahmad Khan have been arrested from Islamabad district. It said these brutal actions cannot deter the Kashmiri people from supporting the ongoing freedom movement.

The APHC denounced the continued illegal detention of political leaders and activists including Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Aasiya Andrabi, Masarrat Aalam Butt, Dr G M Butt, Dr Muhammad Shafi Shariyati, Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, Fehmeeda Sofi, Naheeda Nasreen, Altaf Ahmed Shah, Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saifullah, Raja Meraaj-ud-Din Kalwal, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Shahid-ul-Islam, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Zahoor Ahmed Watali, Syed Shahid Yousuf, Syed Shakeel Ahmed, Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar, Muhammad Yousuf Falahi, Abdul Ahad Parra, Abdul Ghani Butt, Dr Abdul Hameed Fayyaz, Sheikh Muhammad Ramzan, Mushtaq Ahmed Veeri, Abdullah Nasir, Ghulam Qadir Butt, Nazir Ahmed Sheikh, Muhammad Ayoub Dar, Tariq Ahmed, Muzaffar Ahmed Dar, Syed Imtiyaz Haider, Muhammad Hussain, Pir Muhammad Ashraf, Mushtaq Ahmad Hura, Yasin Ahmed Hura, Samiullah, Asadullah Parray, Hakeem Showkat, Meraaj-ud-Din Nanda, Basharat Bazaz, Tariq Ahmed Pandit, Muhammad Hussain, Hilal Ahmed Beig, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Advocate Zahid Ali, Istiyaq Ahmed Wani, Dr Muhammad Saleem, Maulana Sarjan Barkati, Abdul Hai, Aasif Sultan, Sajad Ahmed, Khursheed Ahmed Lone, Waheed Ahmed Gojri, Muhammad Yousuf Butt, Ishtiaq Ahmed Wani, Suhail Ahmed Parray, Aijaz Ahmed Mir and Abdul Rasheed Shigan. It said that the world bodies particularly those working for human and prisoners’ rights should ensure safe and early release of these victims of political vendetta and judicial onslaught.
