Mirwaiz vows to resist move against mosques
Srinagar, July 30 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred two Kashmiri youth in Bijbehara area of Islamabad district, today.
The troops martyred the youth during a cordon and search operation in Kutto area of Bijbehara. One of the martyred youth was identified as Fayaz Panzoo. The operation continued till last reports came in. The occupation authorities have snapped mobile internet services in the district.
The Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, said that any interference in the places of worship and religious matters by the Indian authorities will be opposed by all the Muslims across the territory, tooth and nail. Referring to the circulation of government orders on social media in this regard, the Mirwaiz asked the authorities not to deliberately vitiate the atmosphere in the occupied territory. The orders, the statement added, were being deliberately circulated on the social media to create fear among the people.
Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Chairman, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, in a statement in Srinagar said, instead of searching for a peaceful political solution of Kashmir, New Delhi is interested in sending more troops to Kashmir. He deplored that Kashmir had been made a laboratory for testing political projects and added that a political problem like Kashmir could not be resolved by military means. He pointed out that the prevailing situation in the territory was grim, fragile and sensitive as New Delhi continued to ignore the basic political reality and ground situation.
Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Movement Chairman, Muhammad Sharif Sartaj, in a statement in Jammu strongly condemned the use of brute force by Indian occupational forces on civilians in Banihal area of Jammu region.
Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement Chairman, Mir Shahid Saleem, has warned India to refrain from any fiddling with the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. He asked New Delhi to resolve the Kashmir dispute in its historical perspective.
Hurriyat leader, Zafar Akbar Butt, has expressed satisfaction over the release of Latif Ahmad Waza, Mirza Nisar Hussain, Mohammad Ali Butt and Abdul Ghani Goni from Indian jail after 24 years of illegal detention.
Meanwhile, an activist of Peoples Democratic Party was injured after being shot at by unknown gunmen in Mitrigham area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The injured PDP activist, Latif Ahmad Shah who suffered bullet wounds in his legs was immediately taken to nearby hospital for treatment.
