Sehrai, others condemn murderous assault on Shakeel Bakhshi » Kashmir Media Service

Srinagar, August 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, senior APHC leader and the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai and other Hurriyat leaders have strongly condemned the murderous assault on a prominent Hurriyat leader, Shakeel Ahmed Bakhshi, by unknown gunmen.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar, terming the assassination bid a deep conspiracy, said that such brazen acts had no justification at all.

He said hurting unarmed and innocent persons physically or verbally is not only un-Islamic but also inhuman behavior, which needs to be condemned in strongest terms. He added that anti-movement elements were resorting to such tactics to defame the Kashmiris’ freedom struggle.

Ashraf Sehrai said, Islam and morality don’t allow anybody to hurt someone physically even his political, social or religious opponents. He said safeguarding the fundamental rights of others is the most noble and beautiful end of a human being. He said that intimidation, aggression and extremism had never been an effective way to make point.

Meanwhile, a TeH delegation led by Bashir Ahmed Qureshi visited the residence of martyred, Fayaz Ahmed Panzoo of Tral and Showket Ahmed of Bijbehara and shared the grief and condolence with the bereaved families and prayed for the martyrs.

Hurriyat leader, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, in his statement in Srinagar, denouncing the attack on Shakeel Bakhshi, said that carawan-e-Hurriyat could not be stopped through such cheap tactics and the liberation movement would be taken to its logical conclusion against all odds.

The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peer Panchal Peace Foundation, Haneef Kalas, in a statement issued in Jammu, condemning the assault, said that liberation movement could not be suppressed through such cowardly actions. He said it is now clear that why India was deploying more troops in the occupied territory.
