India puts Air force, Army on high alert in IOK » Kashmir Media Service

Srinagar, August 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, after deploying thousands of more troops in Kashmir valley, India has put the Army and Air Force on high alert in territory.

Reports said that Indian troops, mostly personnel of Central Reserve Police Force, are being deployed in Srinagar and other parts of the valley. All major entry and exit points of Srinagar have been taken over by the Indian armed forces with a token presence of local police, they said. The reports said the troops deployed on the Line of Control have also been asked to be alert.

Indian Air Force fighter aircrafts have been patrolling over occupied Kashmir since Thursday evening.

Meanwhile, over 280 companies of paramilitary personnel, which are 28,000 troops, are in the process of being deployed in the Kashmir valley. These troops are in addition to the 10,000 soldiers deployed in the territory in the past few days.

Officials said that security has been withdrawn from some shrines in the territory.

Early summer vacations have been announced in educational institutions, which will be closed for 10 days starting Thursday.
