JKPL condemns arrest of party chairman, leaders in IOK

Srinagar, August 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL) has strongly condemned the arrest of its Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, and other leaders.

Indian police during house raids arrested Mukhtar Ahmad Waza and other JKPL leaders, Muhammad Rafique Dar, Manzoor Ahmed Butt and Shabbir Ahmed Butt in Islamabad and Bijbehara areas and lodged them in different police stations.

Meanwhile, the JKPL Vice Chairman, Syed Aijaz Rehman in a statement expressed serious concern over the arrest of party leaders and prevailing situation of fear created by the Indian government and its forces in occupied Kashmir.

He urged the international community to take notice of the worst situation in occupied Kashmir and play role in the settlement of the lingering Kashmir dispute according to the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
