IOK reels under curfew, Internet blackout

Srinagar, August 05 (KMS): India, today, flouting all norms of international law and the United Nations resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir abrogated Articles 370 and 35A of Indian constitution while bringing a constitutional end to the special status of the occupied territory.

India also bifurcated occupied Kashmir declaring the Kashmir valley and the Jammu region as a union territory with a legislature and Ladakh also a union territory without a legislature.

By the new enactments, the occupied Kashmir has been bifurcated into two parts in violation of the United Nations Security Council resolutions on Kashmir. After the new enactment, India will be able to settle Indians in the occupied territory, change its demography while outnumbering local Kashmiris. As such, India has changed 92-year-old state subject laws of Jammu and Kashmir. »

Srinagar, August 05 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, at least 8,000 more Indian paramilitary troops have been airlifted to occupied Kashmir from different parts of India, today, after India announced to scrap Article 370, which gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

The C-17 transport planes of the Indian Air Force are bringing the troops to Srinagar, which are in addition to the 38,000 troops brought into the territory over the past week. »

Washington, August 05 (KMS): The Indian plan to abrogate Articles 370 and 35A that guarantee special status and special rights to the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir has been rejected by the Kashmiri diaspora leadership of all political parties.

The leadership of Kashmir Global Council, Farooq Siddiqi, Altaf Qadri, Raja Muzaffar; and the leadership of World Kashmir Awareness Forum, Dr Ghulam Nabi Mir, Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai, Dr MA Dhar, Dr AR Mir, unanimously resolved to pursue the struggle to protect the unique and historical identity of Jammu and Kashmir against all challenges. »

Islamabad, August 05 (KMS): A protest demonstration was held, today, outside the Indian High Commission in Islamabad under the auspices of different Kashmiri organizations.

Kashmiri organizations on the occasion held a strong protest against the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A of the Indian Constitution and the geographical division of occupied Kashmir. »

New Delhi, August 05 (KMS): India has announced to abrogate Articles 370 and 35A from its constitution, which give special status and rights to the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The announcement was made by Indian Home Minister Amit Shah while addressing in Rajya Sabha, upper house of Indian parliament, today.  Amit Shah also announced that Jammu and Kashmir would be re-organized geographically. »

Srinagar, August 05 (KMS): Amidst growing panic and confusion over what is happening across occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian authorities have imposed undeclared curfew imposing complete bar on movement of people, holding of any kind of public meetings and rallies in length and breadth of the territory.

All educational institutions have been closed while Internet services snapped across occupied Jammu and Kashmir. As per the government order, identity cards of essential services will be treated as curfew passes. The order further said that there would be no movement of public and all educational institutions would remain closed. Various educational institutions also directed their students to vacate hostels. »

Islamabad, Aug 05 (KMS): Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League and former convener of All parties Hurriyat Conference AJK chapter, has strongly denounced Indian presidential order to merge Jammu and Kashmir with India.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement issued in Islamabad said the order is dangerous, dishonest and anti-international resolutions and UN laws. The struggle for freedom and right of self-determination will continue despite the latest Presidential order August 2019, he added. »

Brussels, August 05 (KMS): The Chairman of Kashmir Council Europe (KC-EU), Ali Raza Syed has called for raising voice against the latest Indian decision of revoking special status of Jammu and Kashmir.

Ali Raza Syed in a statement issue in Brussels said, imposing new legislation by the Indian government for abolition of special status of Jammu and Kashmir cannot stop struggle of Kashmiri people for freedom from Indian occupation. »
