Jeddah, August 08 (KMS): Saudi Arabia on Thursday while expressing concern over the latest development in Kashmir called for peaceful settlement of the conflict in accordance with the relevant international resolutions.

An official source at the Foreign Ministry said that Saudi Arabia is following up the current situation in Jammu and Kashmir, resulting from India’s move to revoke Article 370 of the Constitution, which guaranteed the autonomy to Jammu and Kashmir. »

Amsterdam, August 08 (KMS): The Gand Mufti of Australia and the Australian National Imam Council (ANIC) have strongly condemned the recent human rights violations carried out by the Indian forces against innocent civilians in occupied Kashmir (IOK).

The Grand Mufti and the ANIC in a statement issued in Amsterdam said, “We unequivocally reject the Indian Government unilateral action to abolish the special autonomous status of Indian-occupied portion of the Muslim-majority in Kashmir. The Indian government’s latest provocations backed by military intervention are in breach of International laws supported by several UN Security Council resolutions.” »

Curfew continues in IOK on 4th day today

Srinagar, August 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, over 500 political leaders and workers have been detained since India placed the territory under military siege ahead of announcing the revocation of the Kashmir-specific Article 370 of the Indian Constitution on Monday.

Almost all Hurriyat leaders including the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, and the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, are under house arrest or in jails. As per the latest reports, about 560 such workers have been lodged in makeshift detention centres in Srinagar, Baramulla, Gurez and other areas, as jails and police stations of the valley were overcrowded with hundreds of Hurriyat leaders and activists already booked under false charges. Former puppet Chief Ministers Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah were also placed under house arrest. There are reports of injuries to several people in troops’ firing on protesters in Soura area of Srinagar. »

Tehran, August 08 (KMS): A large number of Iranians and Kashmiris including students held a forceful demonstration outside the Indian Embassy in Tehran to denounce India’s recent decision to scrap Article 370 of the Indian Constitution that granted special status to occupied Kashmir.

The protesters expressed solidarity with the oppressed people of occupied Kashmir. They also drew attention of the world community towards grave situation of the occupied territory. »

Tehran, August 08 (KMS): A prominent seminary professor of philosophy and mysticism from Iran equating Palestine with Kashmir has expressed hope for a new horizon for the oppressed Kashmiri people who have never bowed before the Indian power and violence.

Professor Asghar Taherzadeh said based on the specific spirituality, he sees hope for the humble and oppressed people of Kashmir amid the present grim situation.

He said just as the modern world was defeated and its limitations were revealed in the case of Palestine when it intended to make this territory its own part but failed to do so, same would be the story of Kashmir. »

IOK to be turned into another palestine

Muzaffarnagar, (Uttar Pradesh, India), August 08 (KMS): Extremist Hindu organization, Bajrang Dal, has asked the Indian people to purchase plots in occupied Kashmir, turning into reality the worst fears of the Kashmiris of converting the territory into another Palestine by India.

The Bajrang Dal activists in Muzaffarnagar asked the Indians to purchase plots in Kashmir.

“I appeal to all of you to purchase plots of land there. Also, this is a welcome step for Kashmiri Pandits who will now be able to return to their hometown. All of us should welcome this step,” said a local Bajrang Dal leader, Ankur Rana. »

Kargil, August 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities have imposed section 144 in Kargil district of Ladakh region after forceful demonstrations against the abrogation of the Article 370 of Indian Constitution that granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

The repeal of Article 370 triggered shutdown and protests in Muslim majority Kargil. A joint meeting of all religious and political parties of Kargil district held in Kargil unanimously condemning the Indian move said that the decision was made without ascertaining the will of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. »

Srinagar, August 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, protests were held in Kargil district over Indian government’s move to make Ladakh a Union Territory.

Complete shutdown was observed in Kargil on the third consecutive day, today, to protest against scrapping of Article 370 and division of occupied Kashmir into two union territories – Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

Call for the protest shutdown was given by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) Kargil, which met at the office of Kargil Council Chief Executive Councillor, Feroz Ahmad Khan. »
