Srinagar, August 16 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, pro-India Kashmiri politician, Shah Faesal, has been lodged at a makeshift detention centre at a local hotel in Srinagar.

Officials said that he was shifted from his home to the hotel during the night.

Indian police had arrested Shah Faesal, a former officer of Indian Administrative Service (IAS), at Delhi Airport during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday while he was going abroad. He was sent back to occupied Kashmir and placed under house arrest after being booked under draconian law, Public Safety Act.

Shah Faesal has been critical about the Indian government’s move to end special status of Jammu and Kashmir and its bifurcation. He had stated in a Twitter post that Kashmir needed a non-violent political mass movement for restoration of political rights.
