Brussels, August 28 (KMS): A bi-cycle rally was held in Brussels, the capital of Belgium, in order to express solidarity with the oppressed people of occupied Kashmir.

The rally organized by Kashmir Council Europe (KCEU) started from Place Schuman in front of European External Action Service, European Council and European Commission offices and ended in front of the European Parliament.

The participants of the rally led by KCEU Chairman, Ali Raza Syed, carrying flags of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and placards with slogans expressing solidarity with the people of occupied Kashmir marched on the roads of the city. Beside, the elders, children and youth were also participants of the rally which attracted the people while driving on the roads. Drivers stopped their vehicles at many places in order to view the rally.

It is important to mention that the KCEU has boosted its awareness campaign against the India’s illegal actions in occupied Kashmir including revoking special status of the territory and continued brutalities by Indian troops against the Kashmiris.

Addressing the rally, Ali Raza Syed said, life of people of Kashmir valley has been paralyzed as they are facing severe hardships due to the crimes against humanity being committed by Indian forces in the territory. “People of occupied Kashmir are facing curfew for the past over three weeks. A large number of political leaders and activists are arrested. People are facing shortage of food and other difficulties,” he said.

Ali Raza Syed urged the world human rights bodies to send their fact-finding teams to take stock of the human rights violations being perpetrated by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir.

The KCEU Chairman appealed to the world community to pressurize India to hold free and impartial plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir so that the Kashmiri people could decide their future freely by themselves.
