Brussels, September 04 (KMS): The Chairman of Kashmir Council Europe (KCEU), Ali Raza Syed, held a meeting with the Foreign Minister of Belgium, Didier Reynders, and apprised him of the prevailing severe situation in occupied Kashmir.

A statement issued by the KCEU in Brussels said that Ali Raza Syed discussed the situation of occupied Kashmir with the Belgian Foreign Minister at the European Parliament. The meeting took place a day after the European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee at a session criticized India’s brutal attitude towards the oppressed people of occupied Kashmir and demanded an end to curfew and restoration of basic rights of the people of the territory.

Ali Raza Syed told Belgian Foreign Minister that the people of occupied Kashmir are under siege by the Indian forces for a month and they are facing shortage of foods and medicines. “Even, they are disconnected from rest of the world as there is no telephonic and internet connection in the occupied valley for last over four weeks. Nobody knows how India’s brutal forces are treating the innocent Kashmiris,” he said.

Ali Raza Syed said that the international community particularly major powers should come forward and protect the lives and properties of the people of occupied Kashmir because they are in danger under the occupation of Indian forces.

The statement said that the Belgian foreign minister listened to the KCEU Chairman and said, “We are monitoring the situation carefully”. He added, he is going to participate in the UN session in New York, where Kashmir’s situation would be discussed.
