APHC-AJK holds anti-India protest in Islamabad » Kashmir Media Service

Islamabad, September 12 (KMS): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) Chapter held, today, a protest demonstration outside the National Press Club in Islamabad.

The protest demonstration was held against the continued lockdown and communications blackout in occupied Kashmir.

The Hurriyat leaders speaking to the protest demonstrators said, on international level the Indian government is being criticized for its continued lockdown and imposition of curfew in occupied Kashmir. They said, the Indian troops barge into the houses and arrest youth besides damaging households and beating women and old people, which is condemned throughout the world.

The Hurriyat leaders described the recent actions of the Indian government in occupied Kashmir as unconstitutional, illegal and violation of international laws and the UN Kashmir resolutions besides bilateral agreement between Pakistan and India. They added the actions aimed at changing the demography of the territory.

They urged Pakistan to appeal for convening another meeting of the UN Security Council to play its role in ending the lockdown, communication blackout and other human rights violations including people’s movement in occupied Kashmir.

The Hurriyat leaders said, the Indian government has been suppressing the Kashmiris’ indigenous movement for securing right to self-determination through military might for last several decades. They said, the Modi government is also conspiring to change the demography of occupied Kashmir by accommodating non-Kashmiris. They pointed out that separate townships for Kashmir Pundits and soldier colonies for Indian troops were being established for the purpose.

They on the occasion also appealed to the countries of P-5 to immediately intervene for ending curfew, lockdown, communication blackout and military occupation in the territory.
