Geneva, September 21 (KMS): The Convener of AJK chapter of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq-led Hurriyat forum, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, has strongly condemned the character assassination campaign and the propaganda launched by Indian media against the forum Chairman.
An Indian English newspaper quoting government officials had reported that to secure release Mirwaiz Umar Farooq like some other Kashmiri leaders in occupied Kashmir had signed a bond that he would not participate in political activities.
Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, who is also representative of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, in a statement issued in Geneva said that the Mirwaiz had not signed any such bond. He has been under detention since August 05 when Narendra Modi’s communal government imposed curfew and communication blockade in occupied Kashmir and was not even allowed to offer Friday prayers during all this period, he added.
Syed Faiz Naqshbandi pointed out that Indian government and its officials are defaming Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders by such mischievous statements. He said that every Kashmiri was caged under curfew and strict restrictions and was facing Indian state terrorism. He deplored that the Indian authorities had restricted activities of Hurriyat leaders including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and millions of people of Kashmir. He said that there was no internet service and the people were facing problems due to communication blockade.
Syed Faiz Naqshbandi appealed to the United Nations Human Rights Council and other world bodies to take notice of the situation in occupied Kashmir as the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, is telling lie and misleading the world community about the situation in occupied Kashmir.
He also thanked the government, political leadership and people of Pakistan for exposing the real face of India and projecting the Indian brutalities in occupied Kashmir at the international level.
