Jammu, September 24 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian forces arrested at least three youth during cordon and search operations in different areas of Kishtwar district.

The operations were conducted jointly by the personnel of Indian Army, police, Central Reserve Police Force and National Investigation Agency. The operations are going on to arrest more pro-freedom youth and activists.

Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mukesh Singh addressing a press conference in Jammu claimed that the detained youth were militants and had a connection in the killings of Parihar brothers, RSS functionary Chanderkant Sharma and his PSO Rajinder Singh and incidents of weapon snatching. The charges were, however, denied by the locals who said that the youth were arrested because of their pro-freedom tendency.

The detainees were identified as Nishad Ahmad Butt, a resident of Hanjulla, Kishtwar, Azad Ahmad Bagwan, R/o Hanzulla, Kishtwar, and Nissar Ahmad Sheikh, R/o Binasthan, Kishtwar.
