Srinagar, October 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leader and Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Employees Movement, Mohammad Shafi Lone has said that India is continuing with the policy of suppressing the Kashmiris’ rights-based struggle for freedom.
Mohammad Shafi Lone in a statement said it is India’s misconception that it can suppress the Kashmiris’ sentiment for freedom through killings and other brutal tactics. He said India is carrying out such brutal actions in the occupied territory, which may risk the global peace.
Jammu and Kashmir Employees Movement chief said Kashmir is root cause of tension between Pakistan and India, and its settlement as per the UN Charter will pave the way for peace in South Asia.
He appealed to global human rights organizations, Amnesty International and the UN to take notice of the Indian atrocities on Kashmiris and resolve the Kashmir issue in accordance with UN resolutions and Kashmiris’ aspirations. Mohammad Shafi Lone thanked Pakistani people and the government for highlighting the Kashmir issue globally.
