Continued lockdown, communications blackout in IOK denounced » Kashmir Media Service

Islamabad, October 19 (KMS): The APHC-AJK chapter leader and the Vice Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Employees Movement, Imtiaz Wani, has denounced the continued military lockdown and communications blackout imposed by Indian government in occupied Kashmir.

Imtiaz Wani in a statement issued in Islamabad said that India was following its repressive policy to suppress the Kashmiris’ voice through use of brute force. He said that the Indian government wanted to weaken the freedom sentiment of the people of occupied Kashmir through different tactics but would never succeed in its nefarious designs.

He said that India had created tense situation on the Line of Control, besides imposing draconian laws, curbing political activities and committing state terrorism in occupied Kashmir which were very dangerous and needed prompt actions by the international community.

Imtiaz Wani said that Kashmir dispute was the root cause of tension between Pakistan and India and urged the world community to play role in its settlement according to the UN resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people for ensuring permanent peace in the region.

He also thanked the government and people of Pakistan for highlighting the Kashmir dispute at international level.
