‘Snatching J&K’s special status illegal, against people’s will’ » Kashmir Media Service

Jammu, October 31 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Bharat-Bangladesh-Pakistan People’s Forum (BBPPF) has termed snatching of special status of occupied Kashmir illegal and also against the will of people.

This was stated by Sheikh Abdul Rehman, former MP and senior vice-president of BBPPF India Chapter, while addressing a press conference in Jammu after attending a 3-day Peace Conference in Kolkata.

He said in the Peace Conference, abrogation of Kashmir’s special status by the Indian government was discussed at length and BBPPF expressed concern as to why the special status was snatched from Jammu and Kashmir.

The former MP said that conducting Block Development Council (BDC) elections in occupied Kashmir in a hush-hush manner clearly demonstrated that the elections were held not to benefit the masses but only BJP as only 36 percent electorate participated in elections.

Sheikh Abdul Rehman, on behalf of BBPPF, urged the Government of India to restore mobile and internet facilities and special status of Kashmir.
