Islamabad, December 10 (KMS): A seminar was held at the office of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter in Islamabad in connection with the World Human Rights Day.

The Chairman of Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir, Syed Fakhr Imam, was the chief guest of the seminar, which was attended among others by Parliamentary Secretary Kashmir Affairs, Sobia Kamal, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Syed Yousuf Naseem, Abdul Hameed Lone, Anbrain Turk, Dr Khalid Mehmood, Javed Rathore, Syed Ahmed Rasheed, Pervez Ahmed Shah, Hassan Al-Bana, Mohammad Shafi Dar and Sardar Abdul Razzaq.

Addressing on the occasion, Syed Fakhar Imam said that the present government will leave no stone unturned to highlight the Kashmir dispute at the global level. He said that due to the efforts of the Prime Minister, the Kashmir dispute once again became part of the agenda of the UN Security Council after fifty two years. He said that occupied Kashmir was under lockdown for the last over four months.

Other speakers expressed concern over the gross violation of human rights by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir. They said that occupied Kashmir had been turned into a jail for its residents for the last four months where Indian troops were committing grave human rights violations and the life of the people had been made a hell. “In this situation Kashmiris are looking towards the international community. The UN must put pressure on India to give global human rights organisations access to occupied Kashmir,” they said.

The speakers said that India wanted to change the geographic composition of occupied Kashmir and was conspiring to usurp the basic rights of the people of the territory which would not be accepted at any cost. They said that the Kashmiris will not hesitate to render any kind of sacrifice in their struggle for securing their right to self-determination.
