Srinagar, January 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred one Kashmiri youth in Pulwama district, today.

The youth identified as Zahid Hassan was killed during a cordon and search operation, jointly launched by Indian Army, police and Central Reserve Police Force in Awantipora area of the district. Zahid Hassan was a resident of Islamabad town.

Meanwhile, Indian troops launched cordon and search operations in Samba, Kathua, Ramban and Rajouri districts in the Jammu region and Srinagar, Ganderbal, Hajin, Islamabad, Shopian, Pulwama and Kulgam areas of the Kashmir valley. Besides, the people of the occupied territory continued to face miseries on the 156th consecutive day, today, due to military siege and lockdown, particularly in the Kashmir valley and Muslim majority areas of Jammu. »

Srinagar, January 07 (KMS): One of the most prominent lawyers and president of High Court Bar Association of occupied Kashmir, Mian Abdul Qayoom is battling multiple ailments inside Agra jail in Uttar Pradesh, India, without proper medical care, his family said.

70-year-old Qayoom was arrested from his residence in Srinagar on the intervening night of August 4 and 5, ahead of the Indian government’s decision to abrogate Article 370 and subsequent bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories.

Apart from Qayoom, senior lawyers Nazir Ahmad Ronga, Abdul Salam Rather and Mohammad Ashraf Butt, the Bar general secretary was also detained by the authorities. »

Islamabad, January 07 (KMS): Hurriyat AJK leader Altaf Hussain Wani has urged the global community to redouble its efforts to address the fast deteriorating political and human rights situation in occupied Kashmir by implementing the relevant resolutions of the United Nations.

In a press statement issued in Islamabad on Monday the he said, “The international community should double its efforts to seek an early and amicable solution of the long-running dispute of Kashmir, which has snowballing into a dangerous conflict having potential to jeopardize peace and security of the entire south region”.

Terming right of self-determination as the cardinal principle in the modern international law Wani observed that being the custodian of peace and justice the United Nations has moral as well as legal responsibility to help resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the resolution passed on 5th January 1949, which guarantees right to self-determination to the people of Kashmir. He said that during the decades’ long struggle Kashmiris have endured oppression and suppression at the hands of Indian occupation forces. »

Islamabad, January 07 (KMS): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter at a meeting in Islamabad expressed serious concern over the grave situation in occupied Kashmir.

The participants of the meeting chaired over by the APHC-AJK Convener, Syed Abdullah Gilani, said that Indian troops were subjecting the Kashmiris to the worst kind of brutalities. They condemned the imposition of unrelenting lockdown in occupied Kashmir for the last 156 days by the BJP-led communal government in New Delhi. »

Mumbai, January 07 (KMS): The Mumbai police filed an FIR against Mahek Mirza Prabhu, a Mumbai-based storyteller and performer, for holding Free Kashmir placard during a protest in Mumbai on Monday.

The FIR was filed at Colaba police station.

“We have filed case against Mahek Mirza Prabhu under Section 153b (Imputation, assertions prejudicial to national interest) under IPC. We have not yet called her for statement. We are trying to get in touch with her, when needed, we will call her for statement,” a police official said. »

London, January 07 (KMS): The Pakistani High Commission in London organised an event to observe the Right to Self-Determination Day for the People of Jammu and Kashmir, today.

A large number of Pakistani and Kashmiri Diaspora as well as members of civil society organisations and media attended the event. The people expressed solidarity with the Kashmiris and supported their just cause of self-determination as promised in the relevant UN resolutions. »

Srinagar, January 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, one person died while another was injured in a road accident at Nowgam area of Srinagar outskirts on Tuesday morning.

A car collided with a police vehicle at Nowgam bypass in Srinagar, resulting in death of one person Tehseen Nazir and injuries to another. »

Srinagar, January 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred a Kashmiri youth in Pulwama district, today.

The youth was killed by Indian troops during cordon and search operation in Charsoo-Awantipora area of the district on.

In a statement on Twitter, police said that one militant was killed in a gunfight in Charsoo village of the district. “The operation is going on,” it said.

Islamabad, Jan 07 (KMS): The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, has paid rich tributes to the over 60 martyrs of Sopore massacre 1993, who were gunned down by the occupation forces of India on 6th January in the apple town.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement issued in Islamabad said, the troops carried out the inhuman action without any provocation and shops and residential houses were set to quell civilian peaceful protests against the military and paramilitary search and crackdown in the areas. »

Jammu, January 07 (KMS): Anjuman-e-Imamia staged a protest demonstration in Jammu against the killing of Iranian General Qasim Sulaemani and his close associate Abu Mehdi Al Mohindis by the United States in a missile attack in Iraq.

Maulana Ali Badshah Naqvi, Imam Juma Imamia Masjid Peer Mitha talking to reporters on the occasion said that the inhuman act showed how the ‘US is backing terrorism to capture maximum resources of the Gulf countries’. »
