Srinagar, January 21 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, on the pretext of inputs about possible attacks on Indian occupational forces ahead of the India’s Republic Day celebrations, the authorities have imposed further restrictions in the territory.

Checkpoints have been erected in many places in Srinagar and frisking has been intensified. Police are seen at many places stopping and checking the vehicles. The people of the territory, especially the Kashmir valley and Muslim dominated areas of Jammu region continue to face problems due to the ongoing military siege and lockdown, which enter 170th day, today.

The main Republic Day function will be held in Jammu where Lieutenant Governor G.C. Murmu will address and take the salute.

In Srinagar, the main function on the Republic Day will be held at the Kashmir cricket stadium.

The Republic day functions will also be held in all the district headquarters across the territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

Indian police have arrested many Kashmiri youth during raids on the houses over the past few days.
