Troops intensify search operations in IOK

Srinagar, January 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, illegally detained Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has appealed to the people to observe Indian Republic Day on January 26 as a Protest Day against the usurpation of all political, religious and social rights of the Kashmiris by India.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, said, India celebrates its Republic Day on January 26 every year despite being involved in violation of all democratic and human values in the occupied territory, which should be a matter of concern for the international community. He said that New Delhi had stepped up rights violations in Kashmir particularly after August 5, last year. He said that the Kashmiri people had no option but to hold peaceful protests to express their anger against the Indian repression. »

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement issued in Srinagar said, India every year celebrates its Republic Day on January 26 while it is violating all democratic and human values in Kashmir which is an eye-opener for the international community.

He said that India had launched a new series of human rights violations in the occupied territory from August 5 last year. He added that Hurriyat leaders, activists, students, lawyers, trades and members of civil society had been lodged in different jails of India and the territory and imposed military siege, which was the worst kind of human rights violation. »

Srinagar, January 23 (KMS): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has appealed people to pray for the full and speedy recovery of its chairman Syed Ali Gilani.

The APHC, in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, said that the heath of APHC chairman has deteriorated. Syed Ali Gilani is suffering from multiple ailments and presently he is facing a breathing problem. »

New Delhi, January 23 (KMS): Indian Supreme Court, today, reserved an order on whether to refer the issue of abrogation of Article 370, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir, to a larger bench.

A five-Judge constitution bench of Justices NV Ramana, SK Kaul, R Subhash Reddy, BR Gavai and Surya Kant on Thursday concluded hearing the petitions challenging the scrapping of special status of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 of the Constitution of India. »

Srinagar, January 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the High Court Bar Association (HCBA) has described the repeal of Article 370 and 35A of the Indian Constitution as illegal and unconstitutional and said that the Bar had challenged the infamous Indian move in the Supreme Court of India.

Narendra Modi-led communal Indian government abolished the special status of occupied Kashmir by repealing Articles 370 and 35A on August 5, last year, and put the territory under military lockdown.

The HCBA spokesman, Advocate GN Shaheen, talking to media persons in Srinagar said that Kashmir was an internationally recognized dispute and it could only be settled through political means rather than use of brute force. »

New Delhi, January 23 (KMS): Jammu and Kashmir was never merged into the dominion of India, a counsel representing the High Court Bar Association (HCBA) of occupied Jammu and Kashmir challenging the India’s decision to revoke the territory’s special status told the Indian Supreme Court.

A five-judge bench headed by Justice N.V. Ramana and comprising Justices S.K. Kaul, R. Subhash Reddy, B.R. Gavai and Surya Kant is hearing the pleas challenging the revocation of Article 370 which granted special status to the Jammu and Kashmir. »

Chandigarh, January 23 (KMS): Veteran Indian actor Naseeruddin Shah while condemning the violence against the student protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) has said that if living in India for 70 years does not prove him to be an Indian he doesn’t know what to do.

In a media interview in Chandigarh, Punjab, he said, “I don’t have a birth certificate. I cannot produce one. Does that mean we are all going to be excluded?” »

Srinagar, January 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops continue to conduct violent cordon and search operations in several districts of the territory.

The troops during the cordon and search operations are subjecting people to frisking and harassment in Srinagar, Ganderbal, Budgam, Pulwama, Islamabad, Shopian, Baramulla, Bandipora, Kupwara, Doda, Ramban, Kishtwar, Rajouri and Poonch districts. »

Islamabad, January 23 (KMS): APHC-AJK leaders, Pervez Ahmad Shah and Zahid Ashraf, have said that India has no right to celebrate its Republic Day, 26th January, in occupied Kashmir as it has forcibly occupied the territory against the will of Kashmiri people.

APHC-AJK leader and the Vice Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Political Movement (DPM), Advocate Pervez Ahmad Shah in a statement issued in Islamabad said, as January 26 or August 15 come nearer, Indian troops intensify their atrocities to a great extent in the occupied territory and people are harassed in the name of so-called security. »

Srinagar, January 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the family members of a victim of custodial disappearance, Sirajuddin Farooqi, have urged the international human rights organizations to help them trace his whereabouts.

It has been 28 years since Sirajuddin Farooqi, bother-in-law of freedom activist, Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar, was subjected to custodial disappearance by Indian troops in Srinagar. Farooqi, who hailed from Safa Kadal area, was arrested by the troops of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on January 22 in 1992 during a nocturnal raid on the house of Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar at Nowhatta in Srinagar. Ever since, his family has been seeking his whereabouts. »
