Srinagar, January 27 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL) has paid glowing tributes to the martyrs of Kupwara massacre of January 27, 1994.

Muzaffarabad, January 27 (KMS): Jammu and Kashmir Pir Panchal Freedom Movement organized a protest rally in Bagh, Azad Kashmir, to denounce India’s celebrations of its Republic Day in occupied Kashmir.

The rally was led by Jammu and Kashmir Pir Panchal Freedom Movement Vice Chairman Qazi Muhammad Imran and was attended by representatives of the Kashmiri refugees including Jammu and Kashmir Refugee Camp Bagh President Mohammad Shafi Kashmiri, Farooq Butt, Abdul Latif Lone and Chaudhry Abdul Wahid. »

Mysore, January 27 (KMS): It is reported that former Karnataka chief Minister Siddaramaiah has decided to argue in favour of Nalini Balakumar who is facing sedition charges for displaying ‘Free Kashmir’ poster during a protest at University of Mysore recently.

The former chief minister, it seems, is serious about his profession, media reports said. When he was the chief minister, he had kept his legal profession under profession and is now said to be interested in getting it renewed.

It is worth mentioning here that number of lawyers defying the Mysore Bar Association’s recently passed resolution have announced to plead her case. The Bar Association had announced that none of its members would represent the journalism student, Nalini Balakumar.

Srinagar, January 27 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, today, to remember the martyrs of a deadly massacre carried out by Indian troops on this day in 1994.

All shops and other business establishments in the district remained closed while transport was off the road in the town and its adjoining areas. »

New Delhi, January 27 (KMS): Former Indian Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha has said that Indian constitution and democracy are in danger as attempts are being made to divide the country on religious lines.

Sinha, who is presently on a 3000 kilometer Gandhi Peace March, talking to reporters in Lucknow, said, “We are out to spread the message of peace and non-violence. The reason we decided to take out a Yatra is because the country’s Constitution, its democracy is in danger. There appears to be great unrest. The farmers are unhappy and there are protests everywhere.” »
