Islamabad, January 18 (KMS) Supporting Pakistan’s principled position on the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK), China Friday reiterated that Kashmir was a dispute left from history and it should be properly resolved through relevant United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions and bilateral treaties and in a peaceful way.

Responding to a volley of questions by the Indian journalists based in Beijing, the Chinese foreign ministry spokesman said Beijing wanted to play a constructive role and was in contact with both India and Pakistan urging them to enhance dialogue, exercise restraint and work for de-escalation.

The spokesman said China actively participated in UNSC review of Kashmir issue because it wanted to work for de-escalation and regional peace and stability purely out of goodwill. »

Islamabad, January 18 (KMS)Pakistan has strongly condemned Indian Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat’s remarks that Pakistan should be blacklisted by Financial Action Task Force (FATF) as well as “deradicalization camps” for Kashmiri children.

Notably, the statement reinforces Pakistan’s concerns, repeatedly highlighted to the FATF membership, about India’s attempts to politicise the FATF proceedings to further its narrow, partisan objectives.

Pakistan urged the group’s members to take notice of India’s malicious campaign against Pakistan and reject any attempt aimed at politicising the FATF proceedings. »

Srinagar, January 18 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops launched a cordon and search operation in central Kashmir’s Badgam district.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the troops cordoned off Chadoora area of the district and launched searches, causing huge inconvenience to the local people. The operation continued till last reports came in. »

People hold forceful demos in Srinagar, other areas

Srinagar, January 17 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, India has planned to set up Nazi type concentration camps for the Kashmiri youth to starve, torture and kill them.

A clear indication of the plan has been given by warmonger former Indian Army Chief and incumbent Chief of Defence Staff, General Bipin Rawat, while addressing a conference in New Delhi. He said that young Kashmiri children are being radicalized and they need to be identified and put in de-radicalisation camps. Rawat also claimed that Indian forces could not be blamed for injuries caused by pellet guns and that radicalised stone-pelters were “more dangerous” than the pellet guns. By emphasizing the need to deal with heavy hand in occupied Kashmir, General Rawat has pointed towards the Indian design to step up state terrorism in the territory. »

New Delhi January 17 (KMS): The Indian Opposition parties have slammed Indian Chief of Defence Staff, General Bipin Rawat for his remarks over Kashmir.

General Bipin Rawat in an address at an event in New Delhi, delving into the situation in Kashmir, said that girls and boys as young as 10 and 12 years were being radicalised in the Valley and they need to be identified and put in de-radicalisation camps.

The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leader, Sitaram Yechury, in his tweet said that as a military commander had no business making these statements. He said, this is deeply condemnable and shocking. »

Srinagar, January 17 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL) has said that all oppressive measures are being employed by India to create an environment of fear to impose its repressive policies on the people of the territory.

The JKPL leader, Nisar Ahmed, addressing a public meeting in Tral area of Pulwama district, today, said that the people of Kashmir had been demanding their right to self-determination for the past over seven decades promised to them by the Indian leaders at Srinagar’s historic Lal Chowk, in the Indian Parliament and at the United Nations. »

Islamabad, January 17 (KMS): All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter leaders, Abdul Majeed Malik and Abdul Majeed Mir, have denounced the fresh killing spree by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir.

APHC-AJK chapter leader and Vice Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement, Abdul Majeed Malik, in a statement issued in Islamabad said that Indian troops had stepped up their brutalities in occupied Kashmir and were killing innocent Kashmiri youth during cordon and search operations on daily basis. He said that India had kept 8 million people in the occupied territory besieged for the last over five months and they were facing severe hardships in the coldest weather as internet and other communications means have been suspended. »

Leh, January 17 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, an Indian soldier was killed and several others were injured in an avalanche in Drass area of Ladakh region.

A massive avalanche engulfed an Indian Army camp at Mushkoo valley in Drass. Several soldiers were rescued from beneath the snow. The injured were immediately taken to a hospital, where one of them identified as Dharmendra Singh succumbed.

The rescue operation was still going on when last reports came in.

Jammu, January 17 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities continued to impose strict restrictions on second consecutive day, today, in Doda district.

The authorities imposed the restrictions in Doda on Thursday after a MBA graduate, Haroon Abbas Wani, was martyred by Indian troops during a cordon and search operation in Gundana area of the district.

The restrictions were imposed to stop pro-freedom and anti-India protests in the district.

Scores of people while visiting the house of the martyred youth expressed solidarity with his family and paid rich tributes to him. »

Jammu, January 17 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Movement, Muhammad Sharif Sartaj, has paid rich tributes to martyred youth, Engineer Haroon Abbas Wani, by Indian troops.

Haroon Abbas Wani was martyred by Indian troops during a cordon and search operation in Gundana area of the Doda district on Wednesday.

Muhammad Sharif Sartaj in a statement issued in Jammu said that martyred Haroon Abbas Wani was a highly educated youth who sacrificed his life for the sake of the freedom of the people of Kashmir.
