Troops launch massive cordon and search operations

Srinagar, March 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, despite restrictions, thousands of people attended the funeral prayers of martyred youth, Mudassir Ahmed Butt, in Shutloo area of Baramulla district.

Mudassir Ahmed Butt, who was a Hafiz-e-Quran and used to lead prayers at a mosque in Sopore, was martyred by Indian troops during a cordon and search operation in Shutloo, yesterday.

People including women from adjacent villages raising pro-freedom, pro-Pakistan and anti-India slogans poured in to have a last glimpse of the martyred Imam at Shutloo. The mourners took the body of Mudassir Ahmed Butt to the martyrs’ graveyard and laid him to rest amid sobs and tears. Normal life remains crippled due to the shutdown in several areas in protest against the killing of Mudassir. »

Srinagar, March 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the family members of Kashmiri political detainees, who have been languishing in different jails of India and the territory since repeal of Kashmir’s special status in August 2019, have expressed concern in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak that has gripped the entire world.

Human rights activists, advocates and families have demanded immediate release of their kin on humanitarian grounds.

“The threat of the coronavirus epidemic increases the risk to the health and safety for political prisoners, who should never have been imprisoned in the first place,” said Michael Page, Middle East Deputy Director at the Human Rights Watch. »

Srinagar, March 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested a businessman after conducting a raid at his residence in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, today.

The NIA sleuths raided the house of a fruit merchant, Ghulam Muhammad Mir, at Palpora in Pattan area of the district. The search continued for several hours. »

Srinagar, March 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops, today, launched cordon and search operations (CASOs) in Islamabad, Kulgam and Pulwama districts of south Kashmir.

The troops cordoned off Semthan area of Bijbehara in Islamabad district, Nowpora Frisal area of Kulgam district and Sofigund Tral in Pulwama district and launched house-to-house searches. The military operations have caused immense inconvenience to the local people. »

He said that the people of Kashmir had been sacrificing their precious lives for the Kashmir cause and would render any kind of sacrifice for taking the liberation movement to its logical conclusion. »

Hyderabad (India), March 14 (KMS): A 22-year-old Kashmiri student was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Hyderabad University in India.

The deceased was identified as Asrar Bashir, a resident of Achahipora locality of Islamabad town of occupied Kashmir. He was a B-Tech 6th semester student at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in Hyderabad. »

Gujranwala, March 14 (KMS): Jammu and Kashmir Pir Panjal Civil Society arranged an important meeting with overseas Kashmiris in Gujranwala.

The Jammu refugees residing in Gujranwala and those who had come from abroad attended the meeting, which was chaired by Khawaja Ghulam Rasool Lone.

The speakers on the occasion expressed their views on the prevailing situation in occupied Kashmir and other matters and apprised the participants of the plight of the people of the occupied territory. »

IOK people urged to beware of Indian collaborators

Srinagar, March 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred one Kashmiri youth in Baramulla district, today.

The troops martyred the youth identified as Mudassir Ahmed Butt during a cordon and search operation in Shutloo area of the district. The operation continued till last reports came in.

The Jammu and Kashmir Youth Social Forum General Secretary, Advocate Asif Ahmed Baba, in a statement issued in Srinagar strongly condemned the Indian authorities for their inhuman behaviour with illegally detained Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik. The JKLF Chairman has been languishing in New Delhi’s infamous Tihar Jail for the last over eleven months. »

Islamabad, March 14 (KMS): Chairman Kashmir Committee Syed Fakhar Imam Friday said that Pakistan wanted to settle all disputes with India including the core issue of Kashmir through meaningful peace dialogue process.
Pakistan has a narrative to resolve all outstanding issues through dialogue whereas India wants hegemony in the region, he said while speaking in a Radio current Affair program.
There is no other example in history about worst human rights violations but what India is doing with the Muslims is strongly condemnable, he highlighted.
He further said many Kashmiris have been martyred and many others have been arrested by Indian forces and locked in different cities. »
