Srinagar, May 02: (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a colonel, Major rank officer and incharge of Special Police Group have been killed in an ongoing gunfight in Chanjmulla area of north Kashmir’s Handwara. It is also reported that one youth has been martyred. The dead bodies have not been recovered so far.

Srinagar, May 02 (KMS): As the world remains consumed with containing the coronavirus pandemic and the severe economic fallout, India has spotted an opportunity for another round of repression against the people of occupied Kashmir, who had already been reeling from the harsh aftereffects of over eight months long military lockdown, says an article published in the Washington Post.

It was said in the article that by initiating gunfights with guerrilla fighters, jailing people for going to buy food and medicine, bringing charges against journalists, and beating doctors, paramedics and municipal workers, India was tightening its grip on Kashmir, seizing on pandemic measures to prevent a surge of resistance to its rule. »

APHC concerned over surge in Indian brutalities in IOK

Srinagar, May 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred two Kashmiri youth during a cordon and search operation in Dangerpora area of Pulwama district, today.

The troops also destroyed a residential house by using explosive material. People took to streets and staged forceful anti-India demonstrations in the area. They raised high-pitched pro-freedom and anti-India slogans. Indian police and troops fired pellets and teargas shells to disperse the protesters. Dozens of youth were injured, some of them critically, in the brutal actions of the forces’ personnel. The troops have also launched a similar operation in Chanjmulla area of Kupwara district. Illegally detained Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Islami Tanzeem-e-Azadi, Abdul Samad Inqilabi, in a statement issued in Srinagar paid rich tributes to the martyred Kashmiri youth. »

New Delhi, May 02 (KMS): Delhi Police have filed a sedition case against the Chairman of Delhi Minority Commission, Zafarul Islam Khan, for his posts and remarks on the social media.

The Special Cell of Delhi Police registered the FIR on the complaint of a Vasant Kunj resident. The complaint came to the Lodhi Colony office of the Special Cell, after the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) (Safdarjung Enclave) forwarded it.

An FIR was registered even as Khan apologised and removed the “controversial post.”

According to the FIR, Zafarul Islam Khan has been booked under several sections of the Indian Penal Code. »

Srinagar, May 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has expressed deep concern over the surge in the killing of youth, destruction of residential houses and other human rights violations by Indian troops in every nook and corner of the territory.

The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar deplored that even in the holy month of Ramadan, the trigger-happy troops continue their aggressive and repressive operations in the territory and are massacring the innocent people particularly youth.

He said, the inhuman acts of the Indian forces’ personnel show that they have no respect for humanity. He said that at the movement the people of occupied Kashmir were extremely worried due to the deaths caused by the coronavirus and the lockdown imposed by the Indian authorities in the territory. He said that when thousands of people around the world were dying every day due to the virus and India itself was in big trouble due to the spread of the deadly infection, even then its rulers didn’t realize how to protect humanity in this grim situation. »

Implementing its settle colonial plan in phased manner

Islamabad, May 02 (KMS): The RSS-backed fascist Modi government is practically implementing in phased manner its settler-colonial plan in occupied Kashmir on the Israeli pattern to deprive the Kashmiris of their identity and homeland, thus turning Kashmir into another Palestine.

An analytical report released, today, by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service, the communal Modi regime started its nefarious plan on August 05, last year, by repealing Articles 370 and 35A of the Indian Constitution that granted special status and rights to occupied Kashmir and its residents. The report said that the abrogation of theses constitutional provisions was aimed at allowing the Indian Hindus to get permanently settled in the territory, thus turning the Muslim majority into minority. »

New Delhi, May 02 (KMS): The number of coronavirus affected personnel in a New Delhi-based battalion of the Indian Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has risen to 122.

Reports said the men belong to the 31st battalion of the paramilitary, based in Mayur Vihar Phase-III area of the Indian capital that has been entirely sealed after the huge numbers of the COVID-19 infection started building up over the last few days.

“A total of 122 troops of this battalion have tested positive for the virus. Results for over 100 more are awaited,” Press Trust of India quoted a senior official as having said. »

Islamabad, May 02 (KMS): Vice Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Pir Panjal Freedom Movement, Qazi Mohammad Imran, has paid glowing tributes to Shaheed Mohammad Arafat alias Qazi Khalid on his martyrdom anniversary.

Indian troops martyred Qazi Khalid along with his eight companions on May 2 in 2002.

Qazi Mohammad Imran in a statement issued in Islamabad said that Shaheed Qazi Khalid was a bold and courageous mujahid. He added that Qazi Khalid had joined the liberation movement when he was only 14 years old and fought against the Indian army for four years. He pointed out that on several occasions, the Indian Army offered Qazi Khalid to surrender but he refused. »
