Jammu, May 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, two persons including a teenager girl were killed when a cloudburst hit a remote village in Kishtwar district.

Deputy Commissioner of Kishtwar, Rajinder Singh Tara said that a 17 years old girl and a 32 years old woman died when cloudburst hit in Chatroo area of Kishtwar. »

New Delhi, May 03 (KMS): Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor asserting that incidents and comments against Muslims in India are bound to attract negative reactions abroad has urged the Modi government to change the domestic reality instead of making attempts to do damage control through making contacts with Arab rulers.

While referring to India’s criticism in the Arab states over rising Islamophobia in India, Tharoor in a media interview in New Delhi said, “What matters is not what the government says but how it is perceived because of what it does, or let others do.” He added that the Modi government had shamefully failed to curb the appalling behaviour of many of its most rabid supporters, including some in high positions. »

2 Mujahideen martyred  in Handwara encounter

Srinagar, May 03: (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, two senior army officers and a Sub-Inspector of police were among five Indian forces’ personnel  killed in a gunfight with the mujahideen  in Chanjimulla Handwara, a forest area in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, on Sunday. Two mujahideen were also martyred in the gunfight.

The military authorities have said, initially an Indian Colonel namely Ashutosh Sharma, a Major namely Anup Sood and two soldiers of 21 Rashtriya Rifles besides a Sub Inspector namely Mohammad Sagier Qazi of IOK Police’s Special Operation Group —moved close to a cowshed near the house where the mujahideen had taken refuge. The five men later lost contact with colleagues on duty. »

Indian soldier killed, another hurt in blast

Srinagar, May 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) man was injured when a grenade lobbed at an Indian forces party in Pulwama district of south Kashmir.

A CRPF official told reporters that a CRPF constable, identified as Sumanpradhan, received injuries on his left leg and right hand and was given first aid.

Additional forces have rushed to the area and started a search operation, he added.

Meanwhile, an Indian soldier was killed and another was injured in an accidental grenade blast in Kupwara district. Reports said a grenade exploded accidentally during a training exercise near the Line of Control (LoC) in Karnah sector in Kupwara. »
