Srinagar, May 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu-Srinagar highway remained closed for heavy traffic due to intermittent shooting of stones from a hillock overlooking the arterial road in Ramban district, officials said.

The 270-km highway is the only all-weather road connecting Kashmir with the rest of the world. »

Islamabad, May 12 (KMS): Pakistan has urged the world to act on India’s defiance on occupied Kashmir and the Gilgit-Baltistan which was threatening regional peace. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said India was escalating tension at a time when the whole world was fighting the coronavirus pandemic.

“India’s claims on occupied Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and the daily ceasefire violations are an eye opener for the world. There must a strong global voice against this defiance,” he said. »

Communications blackout has been depriving residents of vital information

Srinagar, May 12 (KMS): In these extraordinary and challenging times, when access to information is vital for understanding and combating coronavirus, the government of India has yet again blocked internet services on mobile networks in Indian occupied Kashmir, which has been under communications restrictions since August last year.

In its latest directive, the government has cut internet and cellular services throughout the Kashmir valley. The communications gag started on May 6 after the commander of Hizbul Mujahideen was killed by the Indian Army. »
