US newspaper refutes police version on killing

Srinagar, May 13 (KMS): The US daily, New York Times, quoting family sources of the youth, Merajuddin, martyred by Indian forces in Badgam district, today, denied the police account saying the victim did not drive through any checkpoints; instead Indian soldiers first stopped him and then shot him dead.

The newspaper in its report particularly mentioned the narrative of the youth’s father Ghulam Nabi Shah to counter the police version that he was killed when his car didn’t stop despite warning shots. »

India targeting Kashmiris, their properties

Srinagar, May 13 (KMS): When the people across the world are being asked to Stay home, Stay safe, the same is not applicable to the people of occupied Kashmir who are even being targeted by Indian forces insides their houses.

For the last three days the occupational troops and police personnel have been appearing in Nasrullah Pora village of Badgam district and running amok damaging public property, beating locals and arresting people before leaving the area.

Some reports say that the troops and police personnel have looted 27 shops including hardware stores and gas cylinders, damaged 162 vehicles and 42 houses as well as breaking window panes of nearly 800 homes in the village in last three days. »

Srinagar, May 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops shot at and martyred a civilian in Budgam district, today.

The civilian was killed after Indian paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) fired on his vehicle near Kawoosa Khalisa in Narbal area of the district.

Srinagar, May 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the daughter of illegally detained All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader, Altaf Ahmad Shah, has said that her father is being denied proper medical care in New Delhi’s Tihar jail.

India’s notorious National Investigation Agency (NIA) had arrested Altaf Ahmad Shah and six other Hurriyat leaders in July 2017 in a false case registered against them. He has been lodged in Delhi’s Tihar jail since August 2017. The jail was recently in the news as it is overcrowded, making it a vulnerable space during the coronavirus pandemic.

Altaf Ahmad Shah’s daughter, Ruwa Shah, a media student, in a letter published in New Delhi-based The Caravan magazine maintained that her father has been unwell in jail and is not receiving the medical attention he requires. Her letter is reproduced below. »

Srinagar, May 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader and Chairman of Democratic Freedom Party, Shabbir Ahmad Shah is subjected to torture, rigorous interrogation and is kept with criminals, rapists, murderers and thieves in Delhi’s Tihar jail, it has been learnt.

Shabbir Shah’s daughter Sehar Shah who is a student, when during a media interview in Srinagar asked about the plight of her father in the Indian jail where he is not even provided proper food, said, “Despite all of that, I know he is locked up for a cause; for which, he has sacrificed his whole life – freedom of Kashmir.”

Instead of becoming weak due to harassment, she went on to add, we became stronger; we prepared ourselves for the worst. “Because my father has given his life for a cause, I must be strong too.” »

Kuala Lumpur, May 13 (KMS): Mohammad Azmi Abdul Hamid, President of Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations (MAPIM), has expressed concern over the continued blackout of the internet by Indian authorities in occupied Kashmir.

Mohammad Azmi Abdul Hamid in a statement issued in Kuala Lumpur called upon the United Nations to do more than just a narrative of events on India’s shutdown of the internet in the occupied territory.

“It is deplorable to know that after the revocation of special status of Jammu and Kashmir, India now wants to isolate the Kashmiris from the world,” he added. This, he said, is against the Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). »

Islamabad, May 13 (KMS): The Acting President of Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar has expressed his grave concern over the worsening human rights situation in occupied Kashmir and rising tension on the Line of Control (LoC).

The DFP leader in a statement issued in Islamabad while condemning frequent violations of the Line of Control by India, said that targeting of the civilian people of Azad Kashmir with heavy artillery had become a routine matter for the Indian forces.

Terming it a ploy to deflect world attention from the dire humanitarian situation in the occupied territory, Saghar urged the international community to influence India to stop creating a war-like environment in the region. »

Islamabad, May 13 (KMS): The Chairman of Kashmir Institute of International Relations (KIIR), Altaf Hussain Wani, voicing his serious concern over the ever-growing hate crimes against Muslims in India, has said that it is incumbent upon the UN Secretary General, Antonio Gutters to take a strict action against India that has been practicing and promoting the politics of hate to accomplish its sinister agenda.
