Dr Nazir Gilani raises issue with India’s top HR body

Islamabad, May 23 (KMS): The President of Jammu and Kashmir Council for Human Rights, Dr Syed Nazir Gilani, in a letter addressed to Chief Executive Officer of India’s National Human Rights Commission has raised the issue of continued house arrest of Chief Administrative Officer of JKCHR in occupied Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Dr Syed Nazir Gilani in his letter wrote that the JKCHR Chief Administrative Officer of occupied Kashmir chapter, who played a lead role in arranging humanitarian relief and medical aid to the victims of 2014 floods in various parts of the territory remains locked down since 5th August 2019 in his home town in Kupwara and the family does not have milk and vegetables for the last three days. »

Islamabad, May 23 (KMS): Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi had a telephonic conversation with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres to update him on the deteriorating situation in Indian occupied Jammu & Kashmir.

The Foreign Minister conveyed Pakistan’s deep concerns over the grave violations of human rights and intensified military crack-down and moves to change the demographic structure of the occupied territory. Shah Mahmood Qureshi alluded to the recent domicile law in Occupied Kashmir, which was in violation of relevant UN Security Council resolutions and international law, including the 4th Geneva Convention. »

Muzaffarabad, May 23 (KMS): Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Masood Khan has said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi wanted to remove every symbol of resistance by imposing Nazi-style laws in order to change the demography of occupied Kashmir but the sacrifices rendered by Junaid Sehrai, Tariq Ahmad and 12 years old Yasim Ijaz would never go in vain.

“India cannot alter the status of the Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir, which was a disputed territory under UNSC resolution by imposing colonial laws and silencing the voices of dissent,” Masood Khan said while reacting on the violent incident in Indian Occupied Kashmir. »
