Anti-India demos, clashes, arrests mark Eid day

Islamabad, May 24 (KMS): While the whole Muslim Ummah is enjoying the joys of Eid-ul-Fitr, today, the Muslims of occupied Kashmir observe the religious festival under strict military siege imposed by India.

An analytical report released by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, today, said that the occupation authorities imposed severe restrictions and deployed Indian troops and police personnel in every nook and corner of the territory to prevent people from offering Eid prayers and staging anti-India demonstrations. The report pointed out that Indian state terrorism had witnessed an unprecedented surge during the holy month of Ramadan. It said that Indian troops martyred 25 innocent Kashmiris in 472 cordon and search operations during the month. It said that at least 249 people were injured due to the use of brute force by the troops during the military operations and peaceful anti-India demonstrations. It added that Indian police and paramilitary personnel arrested 163 persons during house raids in the month of Ramadan. »

Srinagar, May 24 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, two more civilians wounded at Nawakadal encounter site in Srinagar last week succumbed to their injuries, today. With these two deaths the toll of civilians who died of the injuries suffered at the site has mounted to three.

Indian troops had martyred top mujahid commander Junaid Sehrai and his associate in Nawa Kadal area of Srinagar on Tuesday (May 19). The troops later blasted many houses at the encounter site resulting in a fire that also damaged scores of surrounding homes. Several people were injured when a partially damaged house collapsed after the encounter ended.

First a 55 year old man identified as Manzoor Ahmad Khan a resident of Hawal, Srinagar, who was injured in the house collapse at the encounter site, succumbed at SMHS Hospital on Sunday morning, the health officials said. »

Islamabad, May 24 (KMS): Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders based in occupied Kashmir, Pakistan and other parts of the world have felicitated the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Senior APHC leader and the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, in a statement issued in Srinagar extended heartiest greetings to the Muslims across the world.

He said the Indian aggression and repression can never force the Kashmiris into submission and will never resolve anything but will only aggravate it. He said if there is a belief in some quarters in India and its establishment that once all of the Kashmiris are killed the problem will be over then they are highly mistaken. “Indeed we are feeble and powerless but our enemy should remember that we are giving little thought to danger. Sacrifices make us tough and invincible,” he added. »

Islamabad, May 24 (KMS): The stand-off between Indian and Chinese troops in Ladakh appeared to be turning serious with some reports suggesting that China is building bunkers at two places to prevent Indian troops from patrolling the disputed areas.

The two places are in the Galwan region and Pangong Tso, 110 km apart.

The Chinese army, the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), has particularly bolstered its presence in the Galwan Valley, erecting around 100 tents in the last two weeks and bringing in heavy equipment for construction of bunkers, notwithstanding the stiff protest by Indian troops.

As per to reports, a large number of Chinese troops entered territory claimed by India at four locations including Patrol Point 14 (PP14) and Gogra post. »

Pulwama, May 24 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, massive demonstrations erupted, today, after Indian troops launched a cordon and search operation in Pulwama district.

The troops laid a siege in Mitrigam area of the district and started searches. People took to the streets and held forceful demonstrations in the area. Indian troops used brute force to disperse the demonstrators, triggering clashes between the troops and protesters. The troops arrested two youth during the clashes. »

An analytical report released by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service, said that the occupation authorities imposed strict curfew and deployed Indian troops and police personnel in every nook and corner of the territory, today, to prevent people from offering Eid prayers and staging anti-India demonstrations.

It said that Indian troops had been committing grave human rights violations in occupied Kashmir for the past over seven decades to suppress the Kashmiris’ ongoing struggle for securing freedom from India’s illegal occupation of their homeland. It said that the troops’ atrocities increased to an alarming proportion after Narendra Modi-led communal government repealed the special status of occupied Kashmir on August 05, last year. »

Srinagar, May 24 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Youth Social Forum (JKYSF) led by its Chairman, Umar Aadil Dar, visited the residence of Tehreek-e-Hurriyet Chairman, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, in Srinagar, today, on Eid-ul-Fitr, and expressed solidarity with him over the martyrdom of his son, Junaid Sehrai.

Speaking on the occasion, Umar Aadil Dar paid glowing tributes to Junaid Sehrai and his associate, Tariq Ahmed Sheikh, who were martyred by Indian troops during a cordon and Search operation in Safakadal area of Srinagar on May 19.

He praised the services and sacrifices of Muhammad Ashrf Sehrai for the Kashmir cause and reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue the freedom struggle till it reached its logical conclusion. »

Srinagar, May 24 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops arrested at least four youth in Badgam district, today.

The troops arrested the youth identified as Wasim Ganai, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Muhammad Yasin and Azharudin Mir during a cordon and search operation in Beerwah area of the district.

The troops dubbed the youth, all residents of Kandoora Beerwah, as Over Ground Workers of a mujahid organization.
