Islamabad, June 03 (KMS): Mr Mustafa Mohammad Hussain Khateeb was unanimously elected as the interim convener of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter at a meeting of the chapter held in Islamabad, today.

The situation of occupied Kashmir was threadbare discussed in the meeting and different proposals were considered to make APHC-AJK chapter more dynamic and vibrant as per the directions of APHC Majlis-e-Shoora of the occupied territory.

The members of the chapter expressed concern over the recent extrajudicial killing of the Kashmiri youth in Poonch, Mendhar, Tral and Pulwama areas of the occupied territory. It was maintained that the Indian troops were continuously engaged in genocide of the Kashmir people. The meeting took strong note of the Indian design to change the geographical status of Jammu and Kashmir. »

AJK president describes MEPs letter a welcome development

Brussels, June 03 (KMS): Fifteen active members of the European Parliament from all major political parties have written a letter to the European Union’s high officials and called for raising with the Indian Government the issue of the worst human rights violations in occupied Kashmir.

The MEPs in their letter written to the President of European Commission, Ms Ursula von der Leyen, and the European Unions’ High Representative for Foreign Affairs and the Security Policy, Josep Borrell, stressed to ensure protection of all fundamental rights of the Kashmiri people including their right to self-determination.

Those MEPs who wrote to the European high officials are Fabio Massimo, Bettina Vollath, Helmut Scholz, Maria Arena, Daniela Rondinelli, Javier Nart, Carles Puigdemont, Antoni Comin I Oliveres, Clara Ponsati Oblos, Alvina Alametsä, Ernest Urtasun, Klaus Buchner, Mick Wallace, Rosa D’amato and Manuel Bompard. »

Srinagar, June 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, an amalgam of 30 trade bodies in the Valley, today, said that in last over two decades the territory has witnessed 3000 days of lockdown.

The traders said that this deteriorated the situation of business community in the territory which was struggling to survive amid the prevalent situation. However, the traders also stated that the special package of Rs 20,000 Crore announced by the Indian government for the people excluding the business community of occupied Kashmir.

Students cautioned against taking admission in AJK colleges

New Delhi, June 03 (KMS): After usurping all basic rights of the people of occupied Kashmir, the Modi government has now started to deprive the Kashmiri students from a fundamental right, the right to education.

In the latest move, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has cautioned students from the occupied territory against option for higher studies in technical institutions in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

An advisory issued by AICTE said that educational institutions in AJK were not recognised by statuary authorities including the UGC (University Grants Commission), AICTE and MCI (Medical Council of India).

“Therefore students are cautioned and advised against taking admission in any College, University and technical institutions for courses in engineering and technology, architecture, town planning, pharmacy, hotel management and catering technology, applied arts, crafts and design, management, computer application and travel and tourism and, for which advisories are issued by various other regulatory bodies…,” reads the advisory. »

Srinagar, June 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has started construction of a 3-kilometer long runway adjacent to the Srinagar-Jammu Highway in Bijbehara area of South Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the construction of the emergency landing facility comes at a time when there is military standoff along Line of Actual Control (LAC) between Indian Army and Peoples Liberation Army of China.

The work on the runway started two days ago on war footing and an official said that it would be three kilometer long and would act as emergency runway facility for fighter jets in case of any emergency.

The passes for the construction of the runway to the trucks and workers were issued by the district administration.

The runway being built on the Srinagar-Jammu Highway near Sangam in Islamabad district is nearly 3.5-km-long and currently the level of the strip is being regularized.

Reports said that the work was being done under the dark of the night after labourers were given special passes to work. KMS—10M

Islamabad, June 03 (KMS): The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League (JKPFL), Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, has strongly condemned killing of several youth in the fresh wave of Indian state terrorism in occupied Kashmir.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement issued in Islamabad said that there was panic and tension due some unusual military and police activities and house owners and families were being terrorized and humiliated by Indian forces during cordon and search operations.

The JKPFL Chairman also expressed grave concern over the fresh delimitation procedure by the Indian rulers by overturning the recognized methodology of reviewing the Assembly and Parliamentary segments. “The people were kept unaware of these changes and citizens are barred from challenging the delimitation process before the Jammu and Kashmir High Court. Besides land for establishing new colonies of outsiders has been identified in Pahalgam, Pattan, Baramulla and Manasbal areas and all the bonafide citizens of Kashmir under the Permanent State Residents Certificate have been declared illegal and every Indian has been permitted to fill in new forms of domicile to become rightful occupiers of Jammu and Kashmir, which according to the new definition is a union territory,” he said. »

Srinagar, June 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL) while paying rich tributes to the Kashmiri martyrs has urged the world community to take notice of the grim human rights situation in the territory.

The JKPL leaders, Molvi Ahmed Rathar and Syed Aijaz Rehmani, in a joint statement expressed serious concern over the continued cordon and search operations and killing of youth by Indian troops in Pulwama, Kulgam, Rajouri and Poonch areas. They said that the Kashmiri youth were rendering their lives for the sacred cause of freedom and their sacrifices would never go waste. They said that India would not be able to stop the Kashmiri people from continuing their struggle to achieve their right to self-determination. »

Islamabad, June 03 (KMS): APHC-AJK leader and the Vice Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Peoples Movement, Abdul Majeed Malik, has said that the worst kind of Indian brutalities including killings and inhuman lockdown have failed to suppress the resolve of the people of occupied Kashmir to continue their freedom struggle.

Abdul Majeed Malik talking to Kashmiri youth in Gujranwala said that India had used all atrocious methods but failed to wipe out the love for freedom and Pakistan from the hearts of the people of the occupied territory.

He said that the killings, arrests, torture, destruction of houses, molestation of women and other cruel tactics by New Delhi could not subdue the Kashmiris’ freedom sentiment and they were continuing their struggle for securing their inalienable right to self-determination with dedication. He said that India had forcibly occupied the territory of Jammu and Kashmir and the Kashmiri youth by rendering their lives were giving the message that they rejected this illegal occupation of their homeland. »

Islamabad, June 03 (KMS): APHC-AJK leader and the Vice Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Young Men’s League, Zahid Ashraf, has condemned the continued killings of innocent Kashmiri youth by Indian troops across occupied Kashmir.

Zahid Ashraf in a statement issued in Islamabad, today, lambasted the Modi regime for resorting to relentless bloodshed and genocide of Kashmiris to fulfill its hideous agenda of Hindu Rashtra. He said that Kashmir was a victim of that rabid communal mindset which was willing to eliminate any and every voice that might echo against their evil obsession.

Zahid Ashraf said that it was this very obsession that was making India to make senseless forays into territories of its neighbours, Pakistan, Nepal and China. However, India must know that its vicious designs were only bringing near its own doom, the recent encounters in Ladakh and on the Nepalese territory had only reaped odium as Indian forces not only lost Galwan Valley in Ladakh but were given a bloody nose by the ill-armed, albeit patriotic Nepalese Army. »
