Muzaffarabad, June 06 (KMS): Prominent senior journalist, Saleem Parwana passed away due to cardiac arrest in Muzaffarabad, today.

He was rushed to hospital in a state of shock following the death of his sister.

Saleem Parwana was the identity of journalism in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

May Allah Almighty forgive him and grant patience to his bereaved family.

Srinagar, June 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Executive Council of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) in its condolence meeting held in Srinagar, today, expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of party member, Israr Hussain Mir alias Miras-ul-Islam.

Miras-ul-Islam passed away in Rawalpindi on Thursday.

The DFP Executive Council members, terming the death of Miras-ul-Islam a great loss to the party and liberation movement, said that the deceased was a sincere and honest man who always worked tirelessly for the betterment of his organization and the Kashmir liberation movement. »

Srinagar, June 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, unrelenting military siege and crippling lockdown imposed by Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government for the past 10 months has made the life of the residents of the territory a living hell.

A report released by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service said that occupied Kashmir had been reeling under military lockdown since August 05, last year, when India illegally revoked the special status of the territory.

The report revealed that Indian troops martyred 142 Kashmiris including 4 women during the period. It said that at least 1,300 people were critically injured due to the use of brute force including firing of bullets, pellets and teargas shells by Indian military, paramilitary and police personnel on peaceful demonstrators. »

Geneva, June 06 (KMS): Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations, Khalil Hashmi, has said that India is exploiting the coronavirus pandemic to perpetrate human rights violations in occupied Kashmir.

Khalil Hashmi addressing a virtual conference hosted by Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Geneva said, “The COVID-19 is being used as a smokescreen by India to perpetrate human rights abuses in Kashmir at a scale the world has not seen in recent times.”

He said that occupied Kashmir had been under a 10-month lockdown since August 05, last year, when India repealed Kashmir’s special status and put it under military siege. »

Jammu, June 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the duration of Amarnath pilgrimage to the Hindu cave shrine in Islamabad district of South Kashmir is likely to be curtailed to 15 days this year in view of the spread of COVID-19 across the globe instead of normal duration of 43 days.

Reports said that the yatra is likely to start on July 21 and culminate on August 3. However, instead of two tracks including traditional Pahalgam -Chandanwari track, the yatra will be allowed only through shortest Baltal route this time.

Reports said pilgrimage will mostly be performed through choppers to avoid the road and track in view of threat of the COVID pandemic and the yatris registration will be made only through online. »

AJK president says Kashmiri children have witnessed nothing but sounds of Indian guns, cries of the injured and thick clouds of smoke rising from arms and ammunition

Islamabad, June 06 (KMS): Azad Jammu & Kashmir President Sardar Masood Khan Friday said that the innocent children of occupied Kashmir were the most affected victims of the barbarity and aggression of the Indian occupation forces, and these children since they had grown-up, had witnessed nothing except the sounds of Indian guns, cries of the injured and the thick clouds of smoke rising from the arms and ammunition.

“Hundreds of Kashmiri, children have been killed by the Indian army during the last three decades while thousands of others have lost their parents, and many others have passed their childhood in the Indian detention cells without any fault,” he underlined. »
