Another COVID-19 death reported in IOK, toll reaches 85 » Kashmir Media Service

Srinagar, June 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, one more person died due to Covid-19, taking the number of fatalities due to the deadly virus in the territory to 85.

The victim, a 65-year-old resident of Kakapora area of Pulwama, who tested positive for Covid-19, died at SMHS Hospital on Sunday night.

MS of SMHS Hospital, Dr Nazir Choudhary said that the elderly was admitted to the hospital on Sunday and passed away the same day even as he was sampled for Covid-19. He said the patient was suffering from bilateral pneumonia, diabetes and hypertension.

With this fatality, the death toll due to the novel coronavirus has risen in occupied Kashmir to 85 — 74 in the Kashmir Valley, ten in Jammu division and one in Ladakh region.

In the occupied territory, 6793 cases of Covid-19 were reported till Sunday night. Out of these, 4590 are in the Valley, 1366 in Jammu region and 837 in Ladakh region.
