Srinagar, July 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities, today, booked Advocate Zahid Ali under draconian Public Safety Act (PSA) and shifted him to Central Jail Srinagar.

His family said that Zahid Ali was taken away by Indian police on June 30 from his residence at Nehama in Pulwama district, and detained him at Police Station, Kakapora in the district. Later on, he was moved to Srinagar Central Jail after PSA was slapped on him. »

Srinagar, July 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the family of Zahoor Ahmed Butt, leader of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) and younger brother of Shaheed Muhammad Maqbool Butt, has expressed grave concern over his illegal detention and deteriorating health.

The family talking to media men in Srinagar said that Zahoor Ahmed Butt had been illegally detained at Mattan Police Station, Islamabad town, for the last three years and the authorities had kept him incommunicado.

The family expressed grave concern over his falling health at the police station during the coronavirus pandemic. It feared that he could be affected by the deadly virus due to the lack of proper medical treatment at the police station. »

The webinar ‘Combating violence against women’ was convened by the Kashmir Institute of International Relations (KIIR) in collaboration with World Muslim Congress (WMC), Community Human Rights and Advocacy Centre (CHRAC) and International Muslim Women Union (IMWU) and was organized at the sidelines of the 44th session of United Nations Human Rights council. »

Muzaffarabad, July 03 (KMS): A protest sit-in was held, today, in Muzaffarabad against the brutal killing of a civilian, Bashir Ahmed Khan, by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir.

The protest sit-in was organized by International Forum for Justice and Human Rights.

A large number of people gathered at Burhan Wani Chowk in Muzaffarabad, holding banners and placards against the Indian atrocities in the occupied territory. »

Srinagar, July 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the veteran Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Gilani has said that Burhan Wani is a great soldier in the caravan of martyrs of Kashmir.

Syed Ali Gilani in his tweet in Srinagar said that the destination of the caravan was the pleasure of Allah through the support and help of the oppressed people of Kashmir.

He said that Burhan-like brave youth of Kashmir would give a befitting reply to the Indian aggression. He said that Burhan was a continuation of the history that gave the Muslims of the sub-continent a safe homeland and the liberation movement would be taken to its logical conclusion. »

Srinagar, July 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the activists of Young Men’s League held protest demonstrations against the ongoing Indian military repression in Islamabad and Pulwama districts.

The Young Men’s League in a statement issued in Srinagar said that scores of party activists, today, gathered at different places in Islamabad and Pulwama and raised pro-freedom and anti-India slogans. It added that the protesters called for withdrawal of the Indian troops from the disputed territory. »

Srinagar, July 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, APHC leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Social Peace Forum, Advocate Devinder Singh Behl, has strongly condemned the killing of an innocent civilian, Bashir Ahmed Khan, by Indian troops in front of his three-year-old grandson in Sopore.

Advocate Devinder Singh Behl in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the brutal killing was an eye-opener for the international human rights organizations and the international community.

He said that the three-year-old grandson crying near his grandfather’s body was a reflection of Indian oppression on unarmed Kashmiris. He said that the brutal act of Indian forces personnel was enough to shake the conscience of the world. »

Srinagar, July 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, COVID-19 claimed the life of another person, today, taking the number of fatalities due to the deadly disease in the territory to 119.

The person, a 70-year-old COVID-19 patient from Baramulla district died at Chest Disease hospital in Srinagar.

Medical Superintendent of CD Hospital said that the patient was shifted to the facility on July 2. “The patient was suffering from pneumonia, hypertension, diabetes and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD),” he said.

With this death, 119 people so far have succumbed to the coronavirus infection in the occupied territory comprising 104 from the Valley, 14 from Jammu division and one from Ladakh region.

Srinagar, July 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police produced a chargesheet before a court in Baramulla district against the illegally detained Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, in two false cases registered against him in 2008 and 2010.

The police produced the chargesheet before Additional District and Sessions Judge Baramulla, Sanjay Parihar, through virtual mode against Muhammad Yasin Malik in the cases registered at Police Station Sumbal.

Yasin Malik was booked by Sumbal police in two FIRs registered in 2008 and 2010 for organizing pro-freedom rallies and gatherings in Sumbal town. »
